I've done a few stints helping out the past few seasons including staying till 9pm last Friday with the bairn to make the banner. Really opened my eyes as to how bad it is. Can't imagine how the main organisers feel given all that they give up - they're f***ing heroes in my eyes for what they've done. Can anyone think of a genuine reason why the club have been difficult to deal with? What hoops would the club have to jump through to allow these displays to happen?
Absolutely staggering that the club will not help in any way.I've done a few stints helping out the past few seasons including staying till 9pm last Friday with the bairn to make the banner. But as I said in another thread, trooping over to B&M for water and extra rolls of duck tape, and into a Mcdonalds just for a coffee to keep warm cos it was that baltic, all while ya grafting away right next to the f***ing catering stalls - ya couldn't make it up. How hard to plug a tea caddy or coffee machine in ffs man.
Nobody (other than Chris Waters) coming over to see how we doing and offering support or thanks. The lads having to ask the club to turn the bastard lights on. The club revealing the display on social media after the lads asked everyone to keep it quiet - and to top it off, not even tagging them or crediting them in the picture. Still no dedicated storage facilities at all for flags and surfers that cost thousands of pounds and are just slung over the back of the south stand. No assistance to offer seating plan assistance for designing the displays. The list just goes on.
Other things to that i would love to ask them anarl personally - why can you not offer aassistance and support on match day over the tannoy during the build up? Time of display, basic instructions, encouragement to participate, ccredit to the SO37, offer details on how to volunteer and when, encourage donations and how they can get in touch with the lads. Basic f***ing stuff that takes ZERO effort.
It's heartbreaking and infuriatingly in equal measure. The lads have laid the foundations of something that could go on and be f***ing brilliant. Yes there's been mistakes, yes there's lessons to be learned, yes some displays have worked better than others - that's how these things evolve. But fuck me the hierarchy have made this an impossible task. I just hope KLD reads this board and fixes it soon.

ThisIt was absolutely excellent mate and everyone I have spoken to has said the same. Thank you and well done to everyone involved.
I'm in exactly the same boat as you mate. Rarely lose sleep nowadays after a defeat compared to years ago....but this has got me pissed right off because it is inexplicable, unacceptable and so f***ing easily fixed.I'm at a stage in my life where as ridiculous as this sounds results don't matter as much as they use to. Of course it pisses me off when we lose but I can get over it pretty quickly nowadays compared to when I was younger. The bairns enjoying it and I'm making the early childhood memories for him I look back on that me father made for me when he started taking me. Reading all this stuff here has got me f***ing furious. Proper cant fathom it out. Like you say hope someone is reading this and reaches out to the lads. I don't and I suspect they don't want to get to close to the club hierarchy but FFS just be more accommodating to them
I don’t want to sound too conspiratorial, but I do feel as if the club don’t want a fan group getting too popular and active as then they can be regularly called out on their bullshit.I've done a few stints helping out the past few seasons including staying till 9pm last Friday with the bairn to make the banner. People have every right to be conspiratorial. Something is most definitely rotten in Denmark.I don’t want to sound too conspiratorial, but I do feel as if the club don’t want a fan group getting too popular and active as then they can be regularly called out on their bullshit.
He probably donated just to try and take the 'fan funded' aspect away, to basically give him the right to stop the sports washing display. I'm going full cynic with these now like. It’s very strange that the owner would kick in a (relatively) large amount of money out of his own back pocket, but the club won’t do very simple things to accommodate and help the thing grow.
It’s undeniable that they bring something worthwhile to the big games, otherwise the club wouldn’t be constantly using images of the displays etc.
I can’t help but think there are some people at the club actively working against a sense of unity.
This is it like. The most basic of co-operation, support, even fcking acknowledgement/gratitude would go such a long way and cost nowt. It's like they are deliberately being arseholes for no apparent reason.I'm in exactly the same boat as you mate. Rarely lose sleep nowadays after a defeat compared to years ago....but this has got me pissed right off because it is inexplicable, unacceptable and so f***ing easily fixed.
There's no common sense reason for it so it can only be a cynical one. It’s very strange that the owner would kick in a (relatively) large amount of money out of his own back pocket, but the club won’t do very simple things to accommodate and help the thing grow.

I think he's just so out of touch with the club on a day to day basis, that's certainly how they are putting it across after the bcb mess. It’s very strange that the owner would kick in a (relatively) large amount of money out of his own back pocket, but the club won’t do very simple things to accommodate and help the thing grow.

Shite to read that. That Chris Waters is a total credit to our club but some others need peddled take note as this won't go awayI've done a few stints helping out the past few seasons including staying till 9pm last Friday with the bairn to make the banner. Sounds like this was a very one sided relationship. They are trying to be a forward thinking dynamic club but this kind of treatment is very stagnant and stale.I've done a few stints helping out the past few seasons including staying till 9pm last Friday with the bairn to make the banner. Really opened my eyes as to how bad it is. Can't imagine how the main organisers feel given all that they give up - they're f***ing heroes in my eyes for what they've done.
