We did our bit

Aye mate, unless someone else can be arsed to go in and put them out/put them away every week.

I don't think it's even worth the hassle you put yourselves through some weeks mate.

I've been in the south stand where the flags are put out and loads of them don't even get used for some of the 'lesser' games.

I really hope the stock of flags and banners we have are stored correctly and can be used for the big games (Luton in the playoffs as an example)
Would be a crying shame if not.

It's a crying shame but understandable that those at Spirit of 37 have called time on their efforts.
I don't do social media so had no idea they were getting any grief from some that claim to be our own, so this thread has been a head shaking eye opener.
I can understand recent events being the last straw for them, but from what they had already said about massively adverse dealings with the club, before the banning of their planned mags display, no-one would blame them for walking away anyway.
Unfortunately there is nothing I can say to those that wish to exercise their freedom of speech to spout bile for the sake of it but wish them a long drawn out sad lonely life.
The club however can add this to an evergrowing catalogue of customer service failures and undervaluing/dismissing fans.
Thanks at all to Spirit of 37 for your efforts.

Nothing mate. It’s the end of the road for us.

It’s became a drain on our personal lives, one of the lads has became quite ill (may or may not be related but he needs to focus on his health), the club have been less than great to deal with and it’s just not worth it.

Please take a break from all this shite. Log-off and take time to enjoy stuff that's important to you. Social media is so toxic and nothing good can come of it once you're in the headlights. Health and well-being needs to come first!

Great post.
Someone should forward it to KLD.
It's almost like it's deliberate. After putting as many obstacles in their way as possible, they then tweet a photo of it the day before the match. Firstly, I think it's better when it stays under wraps as much as possible. It'll never look impressive when it's initially set out so it would have been good for loads to get a first glimpse as it's held up. Secondly, it's the f***ing cheek that they didn't even bother to credit the lads who planned it, and who bust their arses to set it up. If you hadn't heard of SO37 you'd think it was all done by safc. It just felt like an extra, final slap in the face to them and I don't know why they'd do it. No doubt they'll have no trouble using the displays for social media videos and at season ticket renewal time etc.

The club are making it really hard to support them at the minute.

I keep banging the same beat, but everything about the matchday experience is dogshit.

This is it like. The absolute nerve of the howers.

Something just isnt adding up at present.

The off field stuff has always been a mess, but now they arent arranging supporters meetings, have constantly put obstacles in front of the SO37 lads, the whole shit show of the BCB and Derby game. It feel like they have just said fuck it

It's probably been mentioned in this thread , but do Newcastle pay for wor flags and if not how is the money generated

Can anyone think of a genuine reason why the club have been difficult to deal with? What hoops would the club have to jump through to allow these displays to happen?

They see the fans as a hindrance, we're all just a headache that they think they shouldn't have to come into contact with at any point

In the summer when it was obvious that 1000s didn't want digital season tickets, they refused to sort cards out online, over the phone, by post or by email. You have to come and stand outside in a line for 6hours. Mostly old people and the likes. Clearly an attempt to put people off. What normal business does that man? All they had to do was say 'email us and we'll post one out to you' .

They hate us man, they see us as nothing but a pain in the arse. They won't give a fuck about the displays not being on anymore, I'd be amazed if they even noticed

Steve Neil admitted he wanted our games played behind closed doors to make his job easier. This is someone high up in our own club..this is what the fans are up against

They see answering the phone or responding to an email as beneath them. They're probably scared that if they do engage with us it will encourage more fans to get in touch

I can’t …maybe that should a question at the next supporters meeting

Given the improvement in matchday atmosphere and experience and that the club seem happy to use the displays in marketing materials why have you made it so difficult for SO37 to engage with the club to the point the volunteers have now walked away?

It's funded by thier club .. I don't even think they have gofundme pages

Because it's something that they previously didn't have to bother with, and it will just be seen as unnecessary work for someone at the club to deal with it all..they couldn't even give the lads access to an empty store room to keep the flags.. an empty store room.. thier attitude is 'lets make it as hard as possible and hopefully they fuck off' .. not just So37, but the ticket office , Ticketmaster, club shop etc..
