Yes mate. The first thing my doctor did when I told him I was really suffering after my marriage broke down was to take me off beta blockers as they are known to cause/exacerbate depression. For those who have used beta blockers, can they cause a crash in mood?
Ahhh mate am so pleased things worked outYes mate. The first thing my doctor did when I told him I was really suffering after my marriage broke down was to take me off beta blockers as they are known to cause/exacerbate depression.
Don’t be sad for me @lucky that was years ago. I’m happy as Larry with my new girlfriend now.

Can I ask, do you ever have trouble swallowing? Does food seem to get stuck in your throat?Just after some advice if possible.
For almost 3 years now I’ve been plagued by an aching throat around the tonsil area / under the tongue.
It’s not every day , but I can’t get shot of it.
I’m not losing weight , can’t feel any lumps on the neck or throat area and there’s no blood either.
I’ve struggled massively with sinus / ent problems for years and wonder if this could all be connected.
Plus I always seem to be swallowing mucus and can struggle to stay awake on an evening.
I’ve never been to the doctors for a check up for years and years.
Other than that and a few of the usual aches and pains that come with age I feel okay.
Any advice folks ?
Thanks
Probably this too.As an IT Consultant, my considered opinion would be to go see a doctor rather than ask a spurious assortment of equally unqualified people on an anonymous football forum.

No, seriously, it is a weirdly little known symptom of stress. Globus phayangias (?) Or something like that. That is why I asked him cos it can be stress related. Look it up. Weird I know. That's weird you said that
Can't recall if I posted it or pm'd someone on here about how i struggle to swallow food
Edit. Just seen there's an additional context to it being physical. Apologies
Typical me. Can't read a situation or context.
Nee wonder am a fkwit trying to read life when I can't even read context on a forum
I totally agree, have it checked for your own reassuranceWhen I was really sick I used to think I was choking, Dr told me it was because of my illness (mental health). Turned out it was actually a physical thing but that is how I heard about it.
......
Don't necessarily assume an obstruction in the throat and difficulty swallowing is stress related tho. Get it checked out.
You seem to be making some positive strides there. I know it can seem to be two steps forward one step back but you have definately taken a step forward.Should be going to the game tomorrow but had to give up my ticket as panic disorder has taken over these past few weeks. I started pregabalin start of December but had to stop due to side effects. Have started it again today with anti sickness meds so hopefully this time it’ll be better.
I’ve been pretty down this past month or so. Just sick of not being able to do normal things. I take the dog out and make it 2 streets away before I have to come home. Neighbours must think I’m mental as I’m in/out 3 or 4 times. Poor dog anarlI’ve woke up today and feel positive. Bought a book I’m looking forward to get into about beating anxiety. My anxiety has moved on. It’s not health anxiety anymore, it’s anxiety over having a panic attack. Now is the time to make some more small steps.
Hope everyone is doing okay. If any of you’s is at the match tomorrow give an extra shout for me.
Sorry to hear this. Get the match in the TV tomorrow - next best thing and at least you can switch it off if we are getting hammeredShould be going to the game tomorrow but had to give up my ticket as panic disorder has taken over these past few weeks. Sorry to hear that. I decided from day 1 that I'm not going to the game. I'll be raging if we win off course, but I get bad anxiety far too easily and the atmosphere is always poisonous (from my perspective) at derby games. Don't ever be embarrassed mateI couldn’t do it mate. One of my biggest problems is I’m massively embarrassed by this condition. That’s one of the things I have to overcome,
Glad I didn’t go today now, I’ll be ready for next one
Thanks for messages. Everyone keep the faith.
People do feel embarrassed from havng such a condition but there is no need to, it isn't a personal weakness and can be got over. Anxiety is often a temporary issue exacerbated by self-created concerns that can be removed/erased. Having a positive outlook helps, and as already mentioned some meds can contribute to having such attacks.I couldn’t do it mate. So glad to read this! Last year I was in a real state and would suddenly struggle to swallow just out and about. I thought it was caused by anxiety but hadnt really come across it publicised. However, it just exacerbated the problem because its quite worrying not being able to suddenly swallow and made me more anxious! No, seriously, it is a weirdly little known symptom of stress. I always think how weird it is that afflictions of our mind (don't know how èlse to put it) can affect us physically., real physical like ailments. So glad to read this! What really blew my mind was reading about physical changes in people with multiple personality disorders.I always think how weird it is that afflictions of our mind (don't know how èlse to put it) can affect us physically., real physical like ailments.
