Mags fanzone in Durham

It's panto season, so in tradition

"Oh yes it has"
It’s improved a fair bit to be honest

Still has its rough parts like everywhere

But they have built new houses
In ayton
Albany
Not to mention generals wood
The village
High usworth
Fatfield
Biddick

It’s improving loads like

I live there mate, and it's far from a hovel.
I grew up there.

Escaped as soon as I could. I have to go back to occasionally visit people. It's an absolute cesspit of drugs and incivility. Few friends who are cops all say the same.

It's a shame as it was a nice place to grow up in but even the likes of Ayton and Lambton etc where the estates were full of decent people now have stolen bikes flying around and the place stinks of cannabis.

The galleries. The only place I know you can go shopping in your dressing gown and slippers and no body bats an eyelid.

Generals wood and the southern playing field area was always nice but your towards picktree in that area, as was high Usworth.

I'm have to take your word on the improving bit as that can only be from an influx of decent folk due to the house prices being cheaper.

Concord used to actually be a decent area, and a local shopping precinct which was good, believe it or not. Had the same regular idiots but you had rileys snooker Hall, a cinema etc. It's now just full of absolute knackers

f***ing hell mate. Never heard so much shite in my life. You must live in beverly hills or somewhere to think washy is a shithole.Whilst I have seen the odd person with jarmie bottoms on in the galleries, I have never ever seen the dressing gown and slippers scenario. Full of shite

Concord centre has always had them mate I used to live 100 yards from the front street.

I’ve moved over to Sunderland now like but it will always be my home and I have family living here still it’s getting a lot better.

Sunderland has far worse places than Washington like, I’ve lived in both witch guessing you have also.

Your friends who are cops, they are jon existent in Washington maybe why trouble in certain areas are worse like all over lack of a police force

Anyhow back on topic

Fuck the mags

If its getting better, Great.

But you understand my post. Its the fact most of the people there never, ever leave.

It's a bit like the series 'from' on sky Sci fi. 😀

I'd agree

Not even sure locals visit Durham city centre any longer except for passing through for work / education purposes

Whole place is decimated as a functioning city centre. Just a uni campus /minor tourist day out place

Suburbs are an odd mix of support. Head east through Gilesgate Moor, Belmont, Carville and it'll be mainly SAFC

North, Fram and Newton Hall a bit maggish

To the south, places like Bowburn and Coxhoe suddenly became infested in the 90s with the very worst kind of Durham mag

Western city outlying areas - god knows

Ushaw Moor, Esh, Brandon etc, mostly mags I'd say.

The worst kind anarl.

Yes, the cops got shifted to run out of Southwick, and, wait for it, south shields! So the response time, or even just looking about for the shite on a night went to zero. What I always found funny was that bloke who nicked the original Bible (it wasn't, but was a work of art) who lived in ayton, turned up at court in a limo eating a pot noodle to defend himself!

Yes, you're correct. Back to the topic at hand.

FTM
We get it ,you left, wooohoo, what a guy!
Thanks. Means a lot.

Had chance to gan Bruggen , wish I’d took it .
Where did you go? Larrparts? Wilders? Bettersloh? Best 3 years of my life on a frontline squadron.
Ive said this for years
Until past year, I worked in newcastle centre for 30 year , they look down their noses at anyone south of the Tyne , not just sunderland folk
They do indeed. To them everyone South of the Tyne are called Mackems or Southerners.

Mags reckon this fanzome has got us rattled... given what we've been thru over the last 8 years, think we have had bigger concerns
Given some of the responses in this thread, I'd say they're right to say some of our fans have been rattled.

Not in my experience. Lads I used to have a season ticket with when we were younger were all from that way on and plenty busloads still come in from over there.

Probably similar to 1992 though when the newer generations are on the turn that way.

Mind I always laugh at these threads that suggest places are majority Mags. Hetton, Houghton and the Lane normally get bandied about when in reality they're nowhere near.
