Mags fanzone in Durham

Ok
I can’t comment on Consett as I don’t know enough mags that live there
I’ve lived in Stanley all my life so I’d imagine met a lot more Stanley residing mags
Aey , there’s more of either support in towns & villages throughout the area that don’t attend games , it’s always been like that but your statement was incorrect , Stanley has always had more mags & there are a lot that have regularly gone & still go to games
Move on
FTM

Do Durham mags realise how little regard geordies hold them in I wonder? a lot of them are held in the same regard by proper geordies as they are of Safc fans.
Ive said this for years
Until past year, I worked in newcastle centre for 30 year , they look down their noses at anyone south of the Tyne , not just sunderland folk

It must be a hard life being a Durham Mag.

Despised by both Sunderland and also their fellow fans from North of the Tyne.

No wonder they over compensate by living in their replica kits and use a fake Newcastle accent. Bless them.

Nevermind the mag connection, anyone wanting to watch a match, say England wouldn't say, let's go to that Bohemia bar.
Bottomless brunch faux only way is Essex type venue.
Unfortunately gained some publicity by clutching at straws. Fuck em.
Oh....good...means I'm not missing much in the summer then....😁

Because their main message board has a thread dedicated to this forum - so screenshots are shared daily.

Ironically, it's their most popular thread on their entire board, with over 28k posts. Obsessed, much?
I get the upsurge inearest and new found respectability that comes with being TRCITW... but attracting all kinds of tourists and bandwagon dross must be pretty galling if you've stuck with them thru all the shite... and see all these new fans tagging along hoping you're the next big thing...pretty bollocks for diehards

Seriously? Ive seen a fair bit on twitter over the years whereby geordies (eg Shambles Travel) are slating people from Durham who support NUFC telling them they arent welcome  some of it has ended up here tbh.
Sums them up really.....

Honestly this is gonna sound a tad little Englander which is t me in the slightest but Durham seems even more transient of a population than most given the university etc, I've not heard so many different lingos spoken in and around the Riverwalk than when I've been in London. They're bound too attract support from that temporary resident given all the hype and bullshit around then now. They probably don't even know where Sunderland is.
I'd agree

Not even sure locals visit Durham city centre any longer except for passing through for work / education purposes

Whole place is decimated as a functioning city centre. Just a uni campus /minor tourist day out place

Suburbs are an odd mix of support. Head east through Gilesgate Moor, Belmont, Carville and it'll be mainly SAFC

North, Fram and Newton Hall a bit maggish

To the south, places like Bowburn and Coxhoe suddenly became infested in the 90s with the very worst kind of Durham mag

Western city outlying areas - god knows

"loads" lol, theres some safc fabs in northumberland from families that moved decades ago. its still atleast 95% mag there. Does not compare at all to Durham Mags and their huge numbers.

Nothing to do with families moving, it's all to do with pit connections in the pit communities who had connections with the Durham mines.

Mind in the not majority areas, I'm not sure why any bar would pledge to a side, just stay neutral - it's not rocket science.
