Ross Stewart

Feel sorry for any sports person who dedicate their life to their profession and get cut down by injury. Nothing worse or more frustrating. Wish it had worked out for him by staying here and firing us to promotion last season. I think he'd have been a suprise package in the prem too. Good luck to him.

Whilst it doesn't change the fact that we brought no one in to replace him, at least it's worked out well for us, £8-10m in the bank and he's played 2 games and his season is already over, poor bit a business by them as if they go up he's unlikely to ever play for them.

Its shit for the lad.

Hopefully he gets back fit because pre injury you'd have said he had a great chance of playing in the Premier League. Loved what he did on the pitch for us and that goal at Wembley will stay with me forever.

Likely to be out for the rest of the season according to Southamptons official twitter (X)

We did well getting 10m for him in hindsight
Did amazingly well to get that money for him …

Tbf done himself and us a massive favour, he’s got a bumper contract at the peak of his career and we’ve managed to get £10M for someone who was clocking up some serious injuries.

That's dreadful news for any player I feel very sorry for that lad.

I'd rather we had sold him and he was now the highest goal scorer in the league than to have the lad who did very well for us out of the game for so long.

Feel for him but it was his choice not to sign a new contract with us.
Surely Southampton have insurance for these eventualities if he can't play again.
Good bit of business by the club selling him.
