Spirit of 37 - display v Newcastle

I
Sorry I haven’t read the full thread, but have the club signed off on the display, SO37 paid for it then it’s been pulled?
It's a bit unclear but I think it was all before anything was ordered, and SO37 have subsequently changed the design after the on/off shenanigans with the original design. Not sure though, would be good to get a clarification.

The sports direct thing made no sense?

Well the fact that you've identified it as sports direct shows that in fact it makes every sense.

It's a twist on the previous owner, who they were appalled at and had faux outrage at his business and misdemeanours away from football, yet have no problem with their current lot.

There, you seem a little slow so I've explained it for you
Imagine being this sensitive over a banner man. Kyril put 10k towards it and it’s clearly a message that could cause him some controversy if the club approved it. Unless you’re a little slow.

No SO37 showed the club their idea and it was initially approved. Then it was shown to KLD and somebody else and it was pulled. At this stage nothing has been ordered. SO37 have then shown the club a new display which has been approved and ordered.

The original rejected display might upset the mags so the club shit their pants and rejected it.

Club approved display including saudi stuff, then changed their mind 24 hrs later and said only pro safc and nothing else basically. Display still going ahead, but sounds like it might be the last

They cannot prevent our fans chanting
No blood on our hands. We are Sunderland. No blood on our hands.
National and international audience, I am sure we can get the message across.
On a positive note I am sure the likes of Patterson and Neil will be firing up their colleagues
sky stadium mikes will be turned off and you will just hear the bloody awful commentators.

So we can't upset the mags in a derby game now:lol:.
Pathetic.
I appreciate we can't cover the east stand with a giant 'bin salman fucks kids' banner, but surely pointing out that our rivals are being used as a sportwashing exercise by a hideous regime is fair game.
