Spirit of 37 - display v Newcastle


On this whole sportswashing malarkey, can anyone clarify what is acceptable to us and what is not, I’ve read a lot on the Henderson thread by lots of posters that suggest he’s done nothing wrong, life changing money etc etc . Others including myself calling him out for it.
Now what would the situation be in January if shall we say for arguments sake Newcastle came in with a £50M bid for Jack Clarke and offered him £200K a week, how would that sit with us?

Can you point me to the correct one please, I posted it here as nearly every post regarding the display seems to suggest it has to be sportswashing themed, I was wondering what opinions would be in the scenario I described.

Tbf it's not his fault he's been put in this position and can't/won't answer it but it's not really very helpful sniping at other posters for 'believing rumours on a message board' whilst adding to that speculation by refusing to give people plans of displays you want money off the same people for.

Sorry, I have a full time job and also trying to organise this in my spare time so must have missed. I’m not “ignoring” you.

I did post a few days ago saying all we’ve been told is that we can do a full stadium display and are basing our plans on that.

That was then changed later to say 'a full stadium display 'where our fans are' which seems like a caveat. So to confirm a full stadium display - That will include a display for home fans in the north and potentially away fans will have something as well (they've been given black and white cards before)? Or is it a full lower bowl display rather than full stadium display?

I would honestly say fuck all mate, The chances are if the club / that knobhead security bloke gets wind of an anti-Saudi display amongst the full Tifo, it'll get pulled just before the weekend of the game.

Say nowt, crack on and on the day unleash it and give them hell.

I’m not Kyril Louis Dreyfus mate how the fuck would I know what the club, the police and NUFC are planning?

All displays are where the home fans are. We’ve never put a display in the away end.

I'm presuming it's already been ordered now tbf. They said last week they had to order it within two days to make sure it arrived on time.

Well if the club are telling you to plan a display (that you are asking the public for funds for) under the pretence that it will also be in the north, when they aren't having home fans in the north then it's not a very good look is it, and they will have royally stitched you's up (if they don't have home fans in that section) like the times they've told you you can have a display then pulled it after you've collected payments.

Particularly when there's a club payment gone towards paying for it (that should cover any costs of having to bin anything ordered for the north stand if necessary I'd imagine).

Almost every time you's try to put a display on the club stitches you's up last minute.

Yes, I know. They drop you in it all the time and it's always you's that get the flack as a result. The payment KLD has sent has red flags all over it and there's not needed to have been one prior.

I've donated in the past and more often than not backed yous on here with the others but I've held back on this one as I've got not confidence in the club being straight with yous.

That's crazy mind. The lads have always put a load of their time into this, on top of full time jobs, whilst trying to deal with the club (which isn't always easy, to say the least), and all to try and make a good visual spectacle and help the atmosphere. Any suggestion that they're doing anything untoward with the money is frankly disrespectful. They must feel like f***ing it all off at times!
