Drawn at home to Mags in FA Cup

Hopefully he's gone well before.

Maybe. Risk then is who next ?
Personally I think TM will be bang up for it and being a local lad, understands it.
They will get ower losing to Milan a lot quicker than losing to us.
Howe will also be pissed off as he now can’t afford to play a weakened team as he would in a game against Hull or Rotherham or Carlisle or Huddersfield etc etc

Agree.

However he also gets the chance to beat SAFC in their own back yard and raise his stock even higher. He’ll relish the chance to do that.

It’s not complicated. I just don’t believe anybody who says that. It’s nothing more than a comfort blanket for some to hide behind.

I've seen about half a dozen on here who don't want the tie.

That comfort blanket is certainly tiny compared to your PIF one which you lot have hid behind for 24 months when faced with tough questions about your ownership.

You're rapidly embarrassing yourself on this thread.

Forget the league, we will finish mid table. Anyone who thinks this isn’t the biggest game of our season is kidding themselves.

I can accept a defeat, they have much better quality than us. But what absolutely CANNOT happen is for us not to compete properly and to be on the end of a hammering, they will never let us forget it. I hope TM and every single player are acutely aware of this fact. Time to knuckle down, no more pissing about, there is no shame to admitting this IS the cup final for us, and it it will be for that lot too.

All the pressure is on them. A defeat for us is not embarrassing at all and doesn't give them any bragging rights given the difference in budgets. It's a great day out for people who actually go to the match.

Great opportunity to protest the Saudis, be a big gofundme raising money for banners etc.

Need to sort out this relegation form before we assume this.

I feel like a lot of Newcastle fans are desperate for us to play our pantomime villain part: e.g. "Grr we are better than you we will beat you".

For many of them there is a huge chip on their shoulders, they need to feel like the underdog, even though they have absolutely everything going for them. The need to feel aggrieved and overcoming some great adversity, which means they aren't satisfied with Sunderland fans saying "Yep we know you are miles ahead of us and will probably win with ease". They want us to be arrogant, some kind of vanquished evil foe, when really they are going to be kicking a defenceless puppy.
I,ll play the panto villain,we ,re gonna do them.

Hopefully Cirkin and Alese back for it
Alese has been 2 or 3 weeks away from returning for 4 months. I think he has phased out of existence. The universe will not accept him playing again for us. Cirkin is the kind of player we want in a game like this but is almost as nailed on for a red as Onien.
