Why the hate campaign against EVs?

Did from here (Sunderland) to Buckingham and back at the weekend.

Total doddle. Stopped each way at Chesterfield services on the M1. Each time just required a 45 min stop to charge. Were countless other options along the route as well.

Granny charged at a house down there over Sat night.

0 range anxiety.
4 charges to do about 450 miles? i'm presuming you left home with it fully charged?

Yep.

Plug car lead into home charging system one end and car port the other. As simple as that.

Same as public chargers but add in tapping card.

Piece of ****. No harder than wiping your arse.
Not to bad then. How much did he 45min charge cost you, and how many miles did each charge add to the battery?
My neighbour just bought a Leaf for 16 k, says new thay are 30k , it is 6 months old, seems a good deal to me
A good saving that mind. Hopefully the depreciation levels off for him.

That the MacMaster weirdo?

As I posted on here a few weeks ago, he's a grade A helmet.

Seems to feature on the same websites of thicko papers every week. Shirley is paid by them to spout complete bollocks and untruths.

Having used the ABRP app to research next year's holiday road trip, probably to Rimini and Tuscany, I'm going to slightly tweak the charging stops.
Setting the app to minimise the overall journey time the quickest way on a long haul jaunt is to make more but shorter stops so you're charging more in the 10%-60% range meaning a lot of the stops are between just 10- 20 minutes as the charger is at its quickest rate. Previously Ive worked between 20-80% with stops upto 40mins after driving for about 3 hours. Obviously on any overnight stopover fill up to 100% on a destination charger and if stopping for a Maccy D's which might take 40 minutes or more charge for the whole time.
Looks a decent way to do it.

Have you worked out the figures I asked you for yet?
Just to give you some idea I travel down to Flixborough occasionally if I have to use a public fast charger down there its £0.75 a kw which works out to about 18p a mile I think. Not cheap probably a little bit more per mile even than a diesel car does at 50mpg. Its unlikely I'd have to put more than 30kw in like for the round trip back to sunderland, unless I've been hammering it, usually get 4miles/kw in eco mode. EV,s are without doubt at their best when charged at home because even without a ev tariff charging at home costs about 0.27p /kw

Now i can see why the poster i asked a few times is being so sheepish about it ..

Just to add to it, Tesla superchargers are 38p-42p a kw and charge up to 250kw. Usually it’s around 120-150kw though. 35 to 40 mins will take you from less than 10% to 90%

That he didn't want to answer as the charger was expensive.

I only asked three times....
But you already know the cost of the charger so why ask, you've asked that question several times on the thread already. Overall with the home charging he did the journey would have been a lot cheaper than diesel.
I still can't understand why you and the biker boys are so insistent on keeping up the negative trolling on the thread. Does the continuing roll out of EVs scare you in any way? On the Nissan thread you celebrate the news of the new EV production, yet you spend a great deal of time trying to cause a concern over EV's on here. It's odd behaviour. Did a maverick EV'er once come onto the biker thread and say something nasty to you all? Just think how good it will be when your bike is battery powered with a battery manufactured in Sunderland, live the dream

They're all different prices, thats why. Its nice to keep the thread up to date and people post information about the true costs of running an EV.

Does the rollout scare me?, no not at all, il no doubt end up with one eventually.

So, to sum up. Calm down, try not to get your knickers in a twist, it wasn't you i asked anyway.

Thanks for responding so quickly, I know you like quick responses.

My knickers are untwisted and I'm perfectly calm so no need to worry about me.

I'm just trying to get to the crux of the thread title. We know why Sunak and The Sun and Mail are keeping up the disinformation crusade to hold up EV roll out, they're funded by the oil industry. What I can't understand is why individuals are intent on spending so much time here posting negative commentary, are you influenced by The Sun? I doubt it, so what's your driver?

Its just nice to see people speak the truth about them, when asked, rather than cherry picking. I agree if you have a home charger its massively beneficial if you own an EV. But if not its a no no at present.

Imo of course.

If it's nice to see people speak the truth about them why do you post all of the negative disinformation that's put out and none of the good information that's put online debunking the myths?
I still don't get it.
