Dreadful by Root that shots only on if outside the line of off stump poor!
Loads of people have lauded that shot within Bazball for 18 months saying it’s so refreshing etc. He can’t then be criticised by them on the odd time he gets out to it.
I’ve always hated him and Stokes trying to slog everything mind so I’ll slag it off
If you took that attitude England would never get past 350 though. And they have loads since 2015.

Love Root but think I’d just let him stick to test cricket going forward. Him and Bairstow have had pretty poor tournaments

And there’s the thing. We’re cruising, Root plays a stupid shot and then someone else is out, without good cause. We’ve seen it so often.
Supposing it was his fault.
Root is perfectly suited to this format imo and that’s a shot he plays in tests.
