ODI World Cup

Brook, Curran, Atkinson and Carse are presumably part of the plans going forward so need to play the remaining games. No point playing Stokes and Wood now and Livingstone wants dropping as well
Stokes should be on an aircraft this morning to come home you would think
Who do people think should be our next captain? Not sure there is an obvious candidate for me
Seems to me that Zak Crawley is the one they will choose if a change is to be made

I know a lot of people don’t like India.

However they have been nothing short of brilliant in this tournament and look far and above the best side, and credit to them

Still think long tournaments like this the top of the league side should be rewarded better.

The IPL model where the top two play first and loser gets another game a better and fair way than straight semi finals imo

If we want to finish top 8 looking at that table we going to need Bangladesh to beat Sri Lanka tomorrow.

No chance we beat Pakistan so relying on us somehow heavily beating Netherlands and hoping the bottom 4 all end up on 4 points and us with somehow a superior NRR than two of them.

I was half asleep during the start. Can someone verify, did that Gill review a clean bowled?

I have to agree, they have been (along with the Saffers) great to watch this WC. I still want them to lose every game mind but that's more to do with off the field stuff with them rather than the brand of cricket they play (shite hawking aside).

Interesting idea re the playoffs. I wouldn't be averse, but it would only work with a single group format like this WC, they're changing it back to 2 groups from the next one.

Saffers pulled this right back after that lightning start by India. Proper choked the r/r, just need Kohli's wicket now.

India run rate slowed dramatically. BBC believe its down to SA spinners. Wonder if its more down to Kohli prioritising his average over the team's run rate. Could imagine him telling the openers to go in and slog so he can come in and relax.

Shamsi is dreadful
I've always thought of him as a flat track bully, but soon as he comes against the top guns he invariably loses his cool.

What do make of this score by India? Commentators seem to think par is 250 but anything under 350, and I think the Indians will be disappointed, especially with the start they got. Got loads of wickets in the hutch too.

330 with wickets available for me but India's score is irrelevant. What matters is Kohli's score for both Kohli and all of India

What are you on about? India that well known Muslim country

Gujarat is the only dry state I know of, though no doubt there are others.

Not sure the Indians are big drinkers regardless. @Paddy O'Dors will be able to advise the on the ground situation best though.

No alcohol on sale inside any grounds. Some of the small north eastern states are dry too but there's no games being held in them.

We went to Amritsar in the Punjab and there was no bars within a mile of the Golden Temple (or any eating places that sold meat). Apparently that's quite common around religious shrines etc.
