And with pretty much all the players at an age where they wont be at the next world cup, we lost the opportunity to give some younger players some important WC experience. Instead we'll enter the WC with a whole squad with no experience of an ODI WC. All for the sake of letting a load of out of form players fall embarrassingly flat. People talk about win win situations but this was a loss loss.
 

I do hope the players don’t get away scot free for there shocking performances.

Don’t get me wrong Mott and Buttler deserve a lot of criticism but can see them taking all the blame which not sure is fair.

Have always thought this at top level sport, especially football, when things go pear sharped managers get pilloried and players less soo

Remember the Iceland game in one tournament when Hodgson was manager, the players in that game were beyond shocking and seemed totally absolved on their responsibility.

They won't have to spend three weeks in Pakistan in February 2025 for the Champions Trophy, playing an increasingly irrelevant format, immediately after winter tours to New Zealand and India and shortly before the English season. Massive bonus
