ODI World Cup

For the rest of the tournament we surely have to play those who aren’t part of the geriatric club and have some kind of future in ODI cricket.

Stokes and Moeen can go home as this will be their last ODIs for England so literally no point in them any more games, so remainder of the tournament something like this:

Bairstow
Malan
Root
Brook
Buttler
Livingstone
Curran
Woakes
Willey
Rashid
Atkinson

No point in flogging Wood either in dead rubbers so give this lot a go and see what happens. Genuinely can’t be any worse than what we’ve seen so far.

This team have been a great team but unfortunately they’re going to be tarnished by this shit show of a trophy defence.

Did I expect to win the WC again? No. I wouldn’t have even been too shocked if we hadn’t made the last 4. But this has been disgraceful in all honesty. Gutless and embarrassing.
I think rather more ‘witless’ than ‘gutless’. The bowlers did their bit and the fielding was particularly good. But some of the batting was criminal. The poor dismissals of Root and Stokes did for us.

There's a lot wrong, it's a mess from top to bottom.

The never take a backward step approach worked well in home and Aus/NZ conditions, but it doesn't work here. Everyone knows it. And the always bowl first as we love to chase approach doesn't work here either. Everyone knows that as well.

So if you're a player and you know that the tactics and the way you've been told to play gives you the worst possible chance of winning, you're going to be pissed off.

The players looked like they've hated every minute of this tournament, there's something very very wrong in the set up.

Getting bowled out 100 short of chasing 230odd today is utterly pathetic. Laughable.

I read that we play about 10 ODIs a year, much less than other countries. And even then the calander is so packed, the test players often miss ODIs as they clash with test series. It's deliberate too, this format is being discarded in this country in favour of even T20 and 16.4.

Our own fault, we're shit and we know we are.

Buttler (not as captain) and Rashid are the only two I’d persist with in this 11. They look shot to bits and mentally weak as p***.

Mott can go too. His job is to to get the best out of the team and he’s failed miserably. Bloke just seems happy to be there.
His little jibe about swapping jobs with mccullum was very telling. He knows his numbers up, can't see why he was employed in the 1st place.

Carse instead of Woakes too.

Key gets lauded for appointing McCullum so he should be questioned for the Mott appointment.

Yes we won the T20 WC last year but that looks like a fluke. We’ve been mostly shit since he came in.

How the fuck were they not aware until well into our second innings?

You must be logged on to see media items

Was Rob Key asleep wtf is or our media team not doing informing the players of this vital information?

George Dobell reported it during the first innings at 10:30 UK time.

Errm aye Mott, there is a problem with the dressing room, they all think you're a muppet, and no one likes you.

Amateur at best. Negligent at worse. Symptomatic of this whole white ball setup.
