I agree marra.
But the bottom line is still, if DN doesn't gob off, he doesn't get sent off.
I'm not happy with the ref marra, but that is still fact.
He made a decision, and like it or not, he was right.

Agree with that bit 100%
And that's fine if it's in isolation, but it isn't. Unfortunately what Neil said is pretty much the norm, the refs take that kind of language all game every game.

To make an example of one player isn't the right way to deal with it, because by definition you aren't applying the rules to both teams equally. And that's cheating.

Don’t know if anyone clocked it but he booked Clarke for dissent when he was having a conversation with the linesman after the 3rd. He’ll look geet mint in his report after the game though. gonk

Calling the ref a cheat, is saying he did it to intentionally benefit Boro.
Do you honestly believe that?

Even worse, what pisses me off is you seen for worse week in, week out. Yet I can’t understand why this prick of ref decides to spoil the game today and make it all about him

If swearing in the pitch and / or questioning decisions is a booking every single game would end up 1 v 1. 20 players sent off.

Why he decided to send neil off but ignore everyone else who questioned a decision is weird - i tend to agree he was trying to make it all about him on the telly.

Awful consistency which makes it an awful display which decided the game

If he'd have said "Thats not a foul ref" would he still have been sent off ? ? ?

Not sure - would he? I suppose that’s the point - what is the rule?

My point is that he won’t be the only player to have used the f word today. He won’t have been the only player to question a decision today. So regardless of the answer he was booked for an ‘offence’ that other players will have committed. Unless of course you think he was the only player to swear or question a decision

Ah sorry I thought you were being serious earlier

”Screaming abuse and waving his arms in the referee face”. Is now “he waves his arms and point down the pitch”.

All you’re missing now is from 15 yards away and not in the ref face and a raised arm not waving and we’re finally there ;)
He shouldn't have been shouting and swearing at the referee at all! He gave him the grounds for a yellow, after getting a yellow already, stupid.
Whatever makes you happy mate
The idiot annoyed me. He got sent off stupidly.

Why didn’t he book others who did the same though?

Why weren’t others booked for the same offence though? Presuming others swore on the pitch, presuming others questioned decisions on the pitch. Every single game would be abandoned for too many red cards if swearing whilst questioning a decision is a booking.
