There’s an argument and a counter argument for most refereeing decisions.

The issue today was consistency. Dan Neil should’ve, by the rule of law, kept his mouth shut, but game after game, week after week, we see players doing worse and going unpunished.

Crooks was warned over persistent fouling, less than 5 mins later he committed a foul and got nothing.

No. I think he wants to draw a line under it, so he whips out a card. He let quite a lot go before he sent Neil off.

Didn't work though, plenty more dissent afterwards and no more cards. It's endemic in game unfortunately, and I'd love to see it stamped out. So book everyone. Making an example of one player is ridiculous.

Their right back committing 4 fouls - no card, the pull on Clarke - no card, a card for Roberts for a pull, Ballard being elbowed in the face and being carded for complaining, Crooks consistently fouling - no card, Greenwood going in studs-up (at least as bad as Neil’s) - no card, Greenwood kicking the ball away - no card, their keeper getting two fouls for challenges when he was flapping on his line, Patterson the same - play-on, their 3rd goal offside right in front of the Linesman, Clarke has a go - yellow card, a couple of dives in our area for penalties - no cards.

Up to the Neil sending off we weren’t shit at all. The ref wanting to be the star of the show ultimately turned the game.

There’s not a chance in hell we would’ve lost that game with 11 men.

Having seen what Neil is supposed to have said then I feel bad for criticising him so much . If Al he's said is that's not a f***ing foul, then it's not a yellow, based on every single match being played in England. If it is indeed a yellow, then we're going to see a lot of abandoned matches in the future due to too many players being sent off in a match.

For the record, I don't think any player should swear around a referee. Simply no need to. But I imagine most players in a match swear around a ref and it goes unpunished. It's either a yellow card every time, or not at all

But the bottom line is still, if DN doesn't gob off, he doesn't get sent off.
I'm not happy with the ref marra, but that is still fact.
He made a decision, and like it or not, he was right.

That game today could have ended 7 a side. There were things that both sides got away with if you look at it from a neutral point of view.
We can't do that, because we're not neutral.
