The mags are claiming Durham CC now

Silly point

Canny leap that like.

Remind me, why was this thread started again? Was is someone saying how much they like the club's unnoficial anthem?

Or something else?

I swear in the majority of my posts - it isn’t a sign of anger.

People aren’t being snobbish about those who don’t go, they’re rightly pointing out that it’s a bit daft being outraged about something you clearly care very little about - the vast majority of us who DO go and watch Durham don’t give a toss about the song they sing when they win. We just want to see them win.

The thread was made about a mag posting that durham was a proud geordie club.
Why would you though? I don't get it
Do you go to every durham cricket game, home and away? Do you go to every Sunderland game, home and away? If not, do you still care about the result? Even if you weren't there

So why does this thread even exist if people aren’t getting upset about it?? Clearly they are. 15 pages of not being arsed whatsoever about a song that Durham cricketers sing when they win a game

Agreed.

The footballification of cricket can f*ck off
Do Durham CCC supporters have a board similar to this one?

No I don't go to every game, and you know what, I do tend to be less bothered about the result of the ones I don't go to. I obviously still want them to win, but it's not the same if I'm not there to enjoy and celebrate in person

I hate the mags and everything associated with them. Blaydon races anthem included.

Durham CC is the closest 1st class county team to us in Sunderland, and has various links to Wearside. Why would it want to alienate much of its fan base by singing a mag song?

Was it sang before at the cricket before 1992? Who sang it 1st? I appreciate if this topic has been covered.

What about England in the Ashes down under? If you are not there, why do you care?

They have been sponsored by Newcastle Breweries and Newcastle Building Society.
If you look at their website it tells you how far the ground is from Durham and Newcastle.
They sing the Blaydon Races because they are geordies.

Can still watch on TV. Do you ever watch the free live streams of Durham games on YouTube? I put a lot of money into the clubs I support, a kind of investment. It sounds like you don't at all. So why do you care about Durham. Not going to a single game and still moaning is a bit different to going to as many games as you can, supporting the club financially but still missing a few don't you think?

Yes it was.

Its not a problem with us Durham fans, you clearly arent a cricket fan

just because you are that shallow to get annoyed by this, doesn't mean we should.

cheers.

Because I still get to watch. I don't see what's so hard to understand. If you never watch Durham or support them with your hard earned, why do you care about them singing a song?
You said if you are not there, why do you care? Of course people can care about things they dont attend.I care about aberdeen fc, my granda was from there, but i dont get to watch them. I still care about them though. What if people are at work? Do they not matter in your silly point that you are making

Your entire point seems to be that a team you dont watch sings a song you don't like, and you have the audacity to call someone elses point 'silly' 🤔

Yeah, I don't watch them. Just like I don't watch sunderland ladies, but I still care about them. Do you attend everything you care about?
