Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

What a stupid reply man, so a fiver more is by definition more acceptable is it. Stewart also had no intention of signing a new contract with Sunderland.
That is literally not what it says. It says £5 more than the £10m we’re getting would be more acceptable. Are you incapable of reading a post?

Like I said £15-20m would be fair imo - why ask my opinion as part of a debate to then go off in a fit? Very bizarre behaviour

Anything above what we get would be by definition more acceptable. Think he’s worth an easy £15-20m personally as he’s such a good player potentially, but just my view. Bigger problem is losing him because we were too tight to pay him a proper wage when he was clearly a very strong player for our level.
What's he done since yesterday to half your valuation of him like

Grow up man. You’d obviously turn down a job you were offered doing the same job you’re doing now for four times as much.

Thought not.

Why should contracts in football mean more than the one you signed?

Hate when people think footballers doing a job should be more loyal than anyone else.

This the same Ross Stewart we dragged from Ross County and effectively gave him a career with decent wages and got him through 2 serious injuries near enough.

You and me have no idea how much we have offered him could be £5000 difference a week for all we know but that agent signing on bonus and whatever else they get counts more.

4 year contract, 25k per week guaranteed. His agent has done a job, especially after a potentially career defining injury.

That's exactly what I've said in response, are you dense?

I haven't gone off in a fit at all.

Cracking player when fit. I am a bit gutted he's gone as he fits our team so we'll as he is a f***ing nuisance to the opposition.

We move on and spend the money elsewhere.

Where? Between Stewart, Gooch and Lihadji that’s well over £10m brought in over the past few weeks.

he owes us nothing man. we paid him money and he did a job. a very good one at that. now someone else wants to offer him more money to do the job. he also has better international prospects playing for a team very likely to be promoted this season. why would he stay? can't see why anyone begrudges him it at all
