I take Mowbray’s point about player ins and outs, ‘that’s football’ and so forth, but I don’t think it’s good enough, really. Contracts are becoming increasingly meaningless, particularly in the last years (unless you’re trying to sell off a dud like Rodwell). At the same time, even relegated sides are able to pick off the best players from lower sides, thus keeping them ‘lower’.
At his age, I can understand Stewart chasing a bigger wage packet, but this whole thing doesn’t seem right.
 
I just admit I didn’t think Stewart would go since he’s a risky buy for anyone on the back of his injuries. I think it’s good business for us all things considered
