Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

And would the model not require them to be sold with the merry go round continuing?

Who currently on the books fits that criteria by the way? Because if we don’t replace Stewart and Amad adequately, particularly their goals return, I don’t see anyone currently in the squad that are stepping up their development to fill the gap this season.
Do you listen to anything the club have said? Clearly not.

Yes the odd asset or 2 will be sold to find the process, but we won't be selling our whole team every season.

That's because his replacement hasn't been signed yet.

Details will come out eventually whether we were being cheapskates or if he was being greedy, question is will that be before or after they get promoted.

Great bit of business.
Now, invest the money wisely.
Hopefully we'll get something for Gooch and Pritchard who are in the last years of their contracts and Pritchard has been a bit of a moaner and upset a few and Gooch we have better.

No we shouldn’t, but if they roll him out for a parade at half time it will be bad form

He will probs be on around 30-40k with a pretty much guaranteed 20% bumper come the end of the season

Yeah he was never going to re-sign in reality when there's good offers on the tablem

Its a shitter as when in form last season he was IMO the best allround striker in the division and he'll be impossible to replace with one signing and especially so if we keep signing bits of kids.

That being said there's a chance he won't recapture that form and it was looking like we'd lose him for nowt. If it's the mooted £10m then fair enough, I just dont want to hear more bollocks about clubs knowing we have money, it's too late in the window to replace or bringing more untested kids in to replace him.

Players will always look for better deals. I imagine even if Luke ‘Mr Sunderland’ O9 himself was offered more money from another club he would have to consider it. It’s just the way the world is. I’m still uneasy about Jack Clarke.

Did a great job for us, helped us escape a shit league, wants to lock in the biggest payday of his career after in all likelihood being paid less than his goal scoring peers at other clubs. Nothing but best wishes and thanks for the memories from me.

I’ve started making my Ross Stewart effigy that I’m going to set on fire in the centre circle at half time.

Then I’m going to face him & do this

Youre right , imagine a deadline day signing , hes 27, seriously injured , last year of contract , only limited championship experience and wants top money , hes £12m all in . We'd be screaming Will Grigg !
Or 24 year old, decent championship experience , fit, and a decent scoring record in a worse team with less service for £7m , plus a decent Ukrainian hot shot.
Im taking Cannon and the Ukrainian all day ...if we get them .
Are you for real? Did you actually watch the games Ross played for us last year? He was f***ing brilliant. He is one of the best strikers I have seen at Sunderland for years. Pulls defenders all over, wins the ball back loads, defends corners, holds the ball up well, and knows where the back of the net is. He is class!
