Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

good money for a lad in his last year coming off a long term injury
I think it’s good business for all parties involved really. If he’s fit and firing Southampton have a good chance to get promoted but there’s an element of risk there with his injury record. We turn a 400k investment into a 10m return on a striker with 6 months left on his contract.

I honestly don't know.

Will make tomorrow an exciting day though.

Club can't let this deal happen surely without having someone lined up

This is crucial for me. If we don't have anyone lined up I'll be furious beyond belief. I simply can't imagine we'd be that incompetent to be honest.

I suspect Cannon is lined up, as Everton will be wanting to get Adams from Southampton (who's deal, in turn, is funding Stewart). But if not, we'll of agreed a deal with another team I reckon.

Then it's about looking at the loan market tomorrow and getting a couple in that really boost the squad.

Or - and this is hard to imagine, as we all know how honest clubs are in dealings with fans, and wanting to bend over backwards to treat them fairly - they've leaked an exaggeration of what the potential fee is.

What I'd like to hear is - what is a guaranteed add-on?

A guaranteed add on could be instalments so here's 8m now and then we'll give you the other £2m over the next 12/24 months so we get what we want (10m) and Southampton can spread the cost.

Sounds like its 10m guaranteed then. Honestly can't complain at that, might not be the same player and wasn't signing a new contract. Be disastrous if we don't get a striker in.

I'm not gonna be emotional when reacting on here to him leaving, gonna spew some facts.

Hes the first big sale and the 2nd profit sale since this takeover I believe, after Lihadji. We are getting a guaranteed 20x what we paid, which is class.

The lad wants to go, his agent and him haven't been as practical as you'd hope, but in the end he's got himself a good move to a good club, likely giving him close to 10x his wage and a lot more should they get promoted. He's never had good money, relative to a footballer, in his career, so now is his opportunity to live comfortable for the rest of his life and set his family up for comfort too.

The lad gaves his all for us, still had intentions of staying until recently, you can say we dropped the ball or his agent dropped the ball, it doesn't matter, he's been part of a canny period of SAFC history and I am sure if this deal broke down right now, he'd come back and knuckle down and continue his graft.

The lad deserves what he gets. Good luck to him.

Over to Speakman and Co. Huge pressure on their shoulders to sign a replacement. Have a worrysome feeling we will wait till January to recruit a direct replacement.
The fact that we're getting profit sales is brilliant. A long way from signing players on big fees and running down their contracts or retiring
