Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

My comment was towards those types who even moaned their head off because rusyn might miss 1 game after signing.

We always sign injured players etc etc. Yet people want us to break our wage structure for a player whoxhas managed 14 games in a year and a Half.

The narrative changes by the hour
Has he really only played 14 games since last Match? He played 13 last season.

It’s the moving on part that worries me!

Got absolutely zero confidence in this lot being able and even willing to reinvest all of the money in a proven direct replacement! 🙄

Do we need to reinvest ALL of the money like?

Another Ross Stewart from a club like Ross County would be spot on.

If they would pay the money that a proven replacement would ask, they may as well have just paid Stewart what he wanted. I think a young 'un from the PL is all we can expect.

Moving forward?!! After this shitshow of a summer window?!!

As I have stated previously that comment was purely to boost season ticket sales imo! Either that or he’s deluded if he thinks we will compete for top 6 after weakening or squad! 🙄

Whatever his reasons for saying it were, he said it. The aim is to improve on last year - so that’s the benchmark to judge his decisions against.

If we do sell, I has to be closer to 10/12 Mill to actually make it worthwhile for us
I love Stewart but we are in the championship and 8 million or so is loads of money for a player at this level especially one in the last few months of his contract. We can’t afford to turn down that money imo

They've got no excuse like. Willing to give them till the deadline to sort something regarding replacing stewart but they've had months to identify targets.

Just out of curiosity - what do you mean by “replacing Stewart”?

It’s inevitable now that they’ll sign two forwards, but if one of them is this left-winger type Ukrainian, and the other is an unproven and/or inexperienced “forward” (on loan or permanently), would you class that as “replacing” him?

Or do you, like me, consider “replacing him” to mean a player who we can be entirely confident will lead the line well and score goals at this level?

If we got £8m for him I’d not have an issue with selling if he doesn’t look like agreeing a new deal.

If we sell and don’t have a replacement lined up straight away then the club deserve any shit they get.
I can’t see this regime over paying for someone last minute to not leave us short. They didn’t do it in January.

Ironically Stewy Donald is lambasted for doing the opposite.

I don’t think there’s a right answer. Even if LND stays now if he gets crocked or walks away for free there’ll be plenty saying they should have taken Southamptons money. If there are no suitable replacements out there the club is in a bit of a hole.

For what it would cost us to replace at this stage, it simply has to be around ten mil mark

This one’s going to hurt if he goes all we ask for is players that give there all Stewart is that and for me there isn’t many better in this league not giving him the contract he wanted a while back is going to come to cost us

Top player unlucky with injuries literally carried us out of league 1 wish him all the best if he goes
