So you don't take into account the money they've got from player sales? And I believe that most clubs have clauses in their players contacts that reduces wages when they are relegated. The parachute money primarily covers them for the fact they’re carrying a squad full of players on legacy premier league wages. The idea that these clubs just have all of the parachute money sitting in an account waiting to be spagfed up a wall is for the birds.
Probably shit teams play in qualifying as wellParachute money, money from competing in the PL and player sales this summer. I can't understand how we can't compete with that, a real head scratcher.
It proves he's played at a higher level than any of our current strikers.
They’ve also brought in £130m in player scales. The parachute money primarily covers them for the fact they’re carrying a squad full of players on legacy premier league wages. What do you think man, are you genuinely this dense or just on a wind up? This poor little Sunderland thing you keep trotting out is pathetic as well.
these others that have been sold..what age bracket are they?Players with only a year left on their deals have gone for big money this summer. Hope we do the same and get a proper fee for him. Not holding my breath mind.
the market SAFC is in is a different market to the one southampton are in..because they have vast sums of money from multiple sources...so of course SAFC arent able to compete..Compete with what? The market rate at our level of the game, for one of our own players?
If you don’t understand how we might compete with that, then the clubs “expectation management” strategy and podcast scripting really has been on point. Fair play to them. Job done.
Poor little old Sunderland. How can such a poor little old club ever hope to compete.
southsmpton arent on SAFCs level financially or in football terms..they are vastly higehr level for now..Just because we’re poor little Sunderland and we can’t compete for our own players at our own level, doesn’t make us pathetic. That’s harsh mate. We’re trying our best like any plucky poor little club would.
On the plus side - if we lose our best player to another club in our own league, just because we won’t pay him what he’s worth, a lot more people will wake up to what’s going on. So there’s that. Every cloud etc.
There is something not quite right about this bloke. Probably best to just ignore him, he can't be taken seriously.Just because we’re poor little Sunderland and we can’t compete for our own players at our own level, doesn’t make us pathetic. That’s harsh mate. We’re trying our best like any plucky poor little club would.
They've just made 120 million on player sales, in addition to parachute money. They are operating on a completely different level. The parachute money primarily covers them for the fact they’re carrying a squad full of players on legacy premier league wages. The idea that these clubs just have all of the parachute money sitting in an account waiting to be spagfed up a wall is for the birds.

for context..KLD was able to buy sunderland for half the price southampton sold one defensive midfielder for this summer...
if only it were that simple..No, it’s not. It’s the Championship market -where Champiknship teams (by definition) bid for Championshio players (by definition).

24 and 27 is a huge difference in football terms..and all of those players, excepting akpom have achived far more than stewart at a younger age...Gyokeres is 25
Akpom is 27
Piroe is 24
Ross has just turned 27.
Not too much difference.
This is a wind up, every time we answer him, he must think to himself, "yeh got them going again!" Sad really. No, it’s not. It’s the Championship market -where Champiknship teams (by definition) bid for Championshio players (by definition).

which market rate? What’ll be a wind up, is if we let our only senior forward - arguably the best in the division - go to another club at our level because we would t pay him the market rate.
And in that context, “wind up” is putting it mildly.
which market rate?
and how do you know which market he is in and that he only wants the market rate?
no it isnt..the market price for something is the aggregate price the collecitve of buyers will pay..The market rate for Ross Stewart at Championship level - which, by definition, is what a championship club is willing to pay him.
The market rate for your house is whatever someone is willing to pay for it. In fact, that’s the market rate for anything. That’s what a market is.
