Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

Nothing dramatic about it.

He’s as good a striker as there is in this league. No fee required to keep him, just a willingness to pay him what he’s worth.

If another championship club gives him what we won’t, and we’re plunged further in to this pit of negligence concerning our forward options, it’ll be - as I said - an absolute f***ing disgrace.
What's a player who has had 2 recent serious non contact injuries, and hasn't played for God knows how long, and may not be the player he was, worth in wages then?

They aren't exactly just another Championship club though they'll have a fair bit of coin. Personally I'd rather they bring in some money for him rather than him slowly build up fitness and walk away for nowt.

They are just another championship club. That’s precisely what they are. They play in the championship just like we do,

It’s within our gift to pay him what he’s worth. If we do that, Southampton could have more cash in the bank than Jeff Bezos and it wouldn’t matter in the slightest.

If he leaves us because another championship club is willing to pay him his worth, and we’re not, it’ll be a disgrace.

It's been so long since Stewart played, I've forgotten what he was like.
Then get on YouTube and see how good Stewart really is, his movement, heading ability, positioning and finishing makes him one of the best strikers we've had in a very long time. It would be suicide to let him go.

Come on the, what is he worth?

Whatever the market dictates, at this level.

Which is why if he left for another championship club, on championship wages in the championship, it would be a disgrace.

It would mean that we refused to pay the market rate in wages for a top forward at our own level of the game, despite the fact that we were the only club in this division that was in a position to have him without paying a fee.

It would be an enormous red flag.

The bloke who “looks in to things” at the club told my mate that Stewart won’t be signing a new contract, that was at a networking conference thing at the Sol a few weeks ago
What, not even if he’s offered what he wants? As in, it’s not just about money any more?

In the same league but worlds apart financially. The second paragraph is a bit daft as well, if we offered 15k and they offered double do you reckon he'd stick around?

While I wouldn't sell him it's ridiculous to just overlook the vast difference. The £100m in sales alone.

Leicester are bringing people in on 50k a week. These aren't your average championship club

Only Sunderland could end up selling their best player whos been out for months on the verge of coming back, and replace him with a player currently injured.
I think if he goes now we need 2 in. Considering how long it’s taken to get one in I wouldn’t be confident.

However if we say the price is £7-8m or no deal and we use that to get say Cannon in addition to Rusyn it leaves us much stronger at the top of the pitch than we are now.
