Salmon Pants buys Charlton Athletic

Lee Johnson and Jack Ross are both available if a certain SE7 Partners director still has their phone numbers

He wouldn't appoint Ross; he fell out with Donald because he thought Ross should have been sacked after the playoff final. By the time Johnson was appointed, Methven was no longer a director. He's a more plausible option than Ross though.
methven is also not a director of Charlton Athletic..

Although he is one of two directors of SE7 Partners who own the club, the other also being a director of the club.

It isn't a stretch to think he might have input in such decisions, even if not the final say.
he may have an imput certainly..he is a very small shareholder..there are loads of different shareholders in SE7...methvens is around 5 per cent..

we’ve had this at Sunderland before. Posters on here saying they aren’t owners of SAFC, they’re owners of Madrox and similar such semantic nonsense

there are important legal distinctions..but yes all football clubs are owned by holding companies..often there are lots of holding companies and what happens in those reveals whats happening in the actual club..

Yes. The legal and financial technicalities were often used by some to muddy waters whilst Madrox were at the club
it shouldnt have been used to muddy the waters..madrox was more transparebt as an ownership vehicle than drumaville, which was registered offshore or mercator, the owner of the club now...bevause we know who owned madrox and in what proportion..we have no real idea of the drumaville shareholdings before short

well specifically..its been said sean mulryan was already a shareholder..but im led to believe he wasnt..the plan the others had was to get him involved but the irish economy went kaput before they could...wikipedia still list s mulryan as a shareholder though..and we cant use companies house because drumaville is registred offshore unlike madrox.

Mulryan revealed as Sunderland stakeholder (Business Post Ireland) 12th May 2007

"Property developer Sean Mulryan owns a 12.5 per cent stake in Sunderland AFC, the football club recently promoted to the English Premiership.

Markland, a company jointly owned by Mulryan and Paddy Kelly, the property developer behind Kelland Homes, owns 25 per cent of Drumaville, the Niall Quinn-led company that owns Sunderland.
Mulryan’s stake in the club was unknown, although he had been linked with Drumaville.

Other members of the consortium include publicans Charlie Chawke and Louis Fitzgerald, property developers Jack Tierney, Pat Beirne and Patsy Byrne, and travel company owner Jack Hayes."

It was reported on the quiet that he was when Drumaville took over and then after we went up it was reported widely (as per @Barry Quizshow post).

Quinn was always quite cagey about who was involved and comments such as having a ‘great hand’ always pointed to wealth beyond what the likes of Charlie Chawke had.

Gone way off topic but, IMO, there should be absolutely no muddy waters or mystery around who owns or calls shots at football clubs. They’re community institutions and owners are only ever temporary custodians of them
