“I want to start by saying I understand that people will judge me because of what they have seen and heard on social media, and I know people will think the worst.

I was brought up to know that violence or abuse in any relationship is wrong, I did not do the things I was accused of, and in February I was cleared of all charges. However, I fully accept I made mistakes in my relationship, and I take my share of responsibility for the situations which led to the social media post.
I am learning to understand my responsibilities to set a good example as a professional footballer, and I’m focused on the big responsibility of being a father, as well as a good partner.

Today’s decision has been part of a collaborative process between Manchester United, my family and me. The best decision for us all, is for me to continue my football career away from Old Trafford, where my presence will not be a distraction for the club. I thank the club for their support since I joined aged seven. There will always be a part of me which is United.

So is he trying to say all the bruises and the rest on the girl wasn’t him? So she was lying about that? The recording and what he said and possibly did wasn’t him? The fellas a wrangun not sure how he could even use that excuse

Rachel Riley and those women supporters of Man Utd showed more integrity and courage in a week, than most Newcastle fans have in a few years.

Riley is on a personal crusade and her logic is pretty flawed to say the least. They've fired greenwood for his conduct. Done.

Still getting paid and they are trying to help him move on with his career. That's hardlys being fired tbf. They've also backed him up with their statement.

Can't see what Rachel Riley has said that isn't pretty much on the money tbh.

So by that logic, savile was innocent? As he was never proven guilty in a court of law. Prince Andrew is innocent? Again never went to court and just gave the girl a massive lumper because he’s a nice fella?

Does seem utterly bizarre for him to take that stance because if it wasnt him that put all the bruises on the girl she’d have had to do them to herself? Hopefully he comes forward with this new ground breaking evidence that man u seem to have gleaned from the whole affair.….and since he’s no longer going to be with man u or playing anywhere but somewhere like turkey I hope he doesn’t blame all this on the girl at some point outta frustration or anger

Erm no they haven’t. They’ve said that he is not guilty of everything that he was charged with and offered to support him in finding another club. Man U could not have possibly handled this any worse than they have done. They’ve also got to take a look at how it came to this with a young lad who has been at the club since he was 7 and who has a bit of form before this escapade, albeit on another level altogether.

I mean they absolutely could have handled it worse. Charges dropped. Conduct bad. Being managed out. Welcome to the corporate world.
