South North on Thursday (vs. Somerset)

I went into the shop on Friday and they had one bucket hat left

£19.99

I was hoping to buy four but not at that price ,

I thought they would be a tenner tops

Aye, but they are double sided, so 2 for the price of 1 😂

Not what I was told by a very good source in reference to one Durham player. My view is some players don't want to play in this county competition

Or maybe they just don't want to play and it's nothing to do with insurance
Again from the professional cricketer’s perspective, as opposed to the fan’s perspective, you can see why that may be the case so I can well believe it.

This is in terms of the playing pool the secondary competition this month, with its mix of reserves and development players to make up the numbers. A bit like the footballer’s choice between bench warming for the first XI squad or turning out in an under 21 competition, it’s at least not a no brainer. Sometimes you might want to play yourself back into contention but often you’d just prefer to stay with the main set up.

At another level, taking the option not to play appears to be the choice that most centrally contracted England players make these days when they might otherwise be free to play and there’s no insurance issue there as the ECB still pays them if they get injured. If there’s also some truth in this instance that Durham’s insurance doesn’t cover them properly if they’re injured then it probably is a no brainer to stay where they are.

to be expected really with a game in newcastle, Just out of curiosity though are there any clubs anywhere close to the standard of South North in county durham where this could have been played instead
