True, and anyone who disagrees needs to Star Off.Last five albums are painfully ordinary.

This.New Adventures in HiFi was their last decent album.
It was 1989 - the night Arsenal beat Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield to clinch the title.Turned down a ticket for the City Hall to see them on their Green tour, 1989 I think.
Regretted it ever since.
I think Reveal is very good, Immitation of Life, All the way to Reno, She just wants to be, I'll take the rain are all cracking songs IMO, think there's a few other decent songs on there as wellThis.
If they had called it a day with that album it would've been a near perfect career, although in fairness few if any artists stop out of choice at what turns out to be the end of their peak years.
It is a decent album tbf and Imitation of Life is one of my top REM tunes, so I'm undermining myself hereI think Reveal is very good, Immitation of Life, All the way to Reno, She just wants to be, I'll take the rain are all cracking songs IMO, think there's a few other decent songs on there as well
Agreed, I still like the odd songs on the last few albums though, Electron Blue, Leaving New York, Around the Sun, Uberlin, Oh my heart, Supernatural Superserious off the top of my head.It is a decent album tbf and Imitation of Life is one of my top REM tunes, so I'm undermining myself hereI wouldn't want to be without a few tunes from their post Berry output tbh, it was more an observation certainly with Around the Sun and the later albums were past peak REM. In fairness to them that peak was a very high benchmark that few other bands have matched.
Now there`s a venue - saw The Cult on the Dreamtime Tour.Saw em at Tiffany’s in Newcastle pushing their third album iirc. Superb gig.
It was downhill for them all the way after Bill Berry left.
Never mind marra. I’m sure you’ve seen some decent bands there anarl. Now there`s a venue - saw The Cult on the Dreamtime Tour.
