Bid rejected for Clarke

Burnley are historically a huge club too.

But I do know what you’re saying.
You really believe that?
The cotton mills were closed down decades ago and with them went Bolton Blackburn and Burnley's fortunes.
Huge number, relatively speaking, of thugs amongst their fans. Probably reflected by the flirtations with The National Front in local politics

The shipyards were closed down years ago.
Doesn’t stop us being massive

Tin hat firmly on, but if they were to offer say Deli Ali and Canon on loan with no recall allowed, plus 15m we’d have to be very tempted.

Very tempted? We’d snap their hand off. Won’t get anywhere near that unfortunately!

Edit. Just realised you put loan

Was going to say, how’s that unrealistic 😂.

I think your looking at 1m loan fees for dele and canon, add 15m outright and that’s basically a 17m deal, which is still a couple of mil shy of the ideal price but it’s a decent compromise imo.

20m’s plus dele on loan for a full season is a good shout as we know Clarke wants prem life now. Anyone who questions that he doesn’t want prem life now is bonkers.

Every single player in our team should want to play in the Premier League. If they don't then we should be selling them asap.

Cash plus player would get us around the sell-on to an extent. However it’d probably make spurs a lot less keen to work with us in future too.
I don't think Daniel Levy would accept that. He'd add in the value of the player exchnaged.

You're right on your second point.

story hoyed in to tell us how Clarke departs. It's simple, put a huge bid in or fk off, no matter who the club is.

None of this part exchange cr*p, show us the money or shut it.

In the highly unlikely event Ali would drop down into the championship, we couldn't afford a fraction of the wages he'll be on.

Why would we want Ali? He'd just be a huge drain on wages.

Edit, I read it as Ali on a permanent and Cannon on loan.

I still wouldn't want Ali though.

Everton can't afford them either, so something has to give one way or another.
Depends how much Ali wants to play really.
