Depends. The bail moving is what matters, it means he had to knock further into the stumps before the bail is completely removed. Depends how many micro seconds it took for the bail to be impacted on middle stump rather than the 1st stump, in relation to where Smiths bat was. Either way it was a tight decisionThe Comms is talking utter shite there. If Bairstow hadn’t touched the stump then the ball would still have arrived at the same time and Smith would have been very narrowly home before Bairstow broke the stumps with the ball in his gloves…..
It wasn't pure luck tbf. Its Bairstow not getting his position quite right with his gloves. May have still been not out either way, but it's not luck just unfortunate errorThat is so unlucky. Remember at full speed it was a great take and stumping
yes when it’s rewound to micro frame speed it looks a clanger but that was pure luck for smith to survive
It’s looking worse because of the slo moIt wasn't pure luck tbf. It Bairstow not getting his position quite right with his gloves. May have still been not out either way, but it's not luck just unfortunate error
He thought he was gone in real time from a distant cam. As soon as a second angle appeared on screen he stopped as he saw bairstows hand nudge past the stump lifting the bail, meaning he has to remove the full thing. It's unfortunate but it's still an error of wicket keeping, that as with anything looks worse in full speed. Most batsmen would have given up tbf and be ran out anywayIt’s a very slight error imo
its being made to look worse in the slo mo. At match pace it was a blink of an eye
It’s looking worse because of the slo mo
that’s all and smith was nearly off the pitch so he thought he was gone, imo he had a real slice of luck there
CorrectThe Comms is talking utter shite there. If Bairstow hadn’t touched the stump then the ball would still have arrived at the same time and Smith would have been very narrowly home before Bairstow broke the stumps with the ball in his gloves…..
