Sometimes players need to be told

iirc it was in a mid series in New Zealand when they told Hoggard his time was up

I can remember even further back and Andy Caddick in his last test took ten wickets and was never seen again

Jimmy is an all time great so is being given a bit more leeway but I do agree , he just seem to have the same nip and swing of previous summers

he owes England nothing though imo , so he should go out at The Oval to a standing ovation
 
Need to take at least three wickets in the next hour to make a game of this.

Always struggle to comprehend how English bowlers regularly fail to look threatening when bowling in typical English conditions.

Brook was sublime in his innings

Moeen looked like his groin had gone and then hit sixes and got out , not sure if he will be fit to bowl

starc has a shoulder injury, Aussies dropped three catches , dolly’s for Warner and Carey

england were on fast forward to try and make time for potential rain over the weekend

I had burger and chips
 
Think the weather at OT could have killed the team's momentum but again it just takes a great spell and the game is turned back on its head.
 
And I would still take great delight in flattening Warner

one last thing

the mrs has just took out some gammon and she’s made some buns, so tomorrow it’s ham and pease pud buns
