Bid rejected for Clarke

The reality right now is we have a very good young player who is attracting serious attention from the premier league. I would imagine pretty much all young players have dreams of playing there and those opportunities don’t always come round so often. I personally think Clarke loves it here and is playing the football that you see from a happy player. All that being said we are talking about the premier league and all that comes with it from a sporting and a financial perspective it’s all in Clarkes favour to go there. I don’t want him to and I reckon he’s gutted more than anyone that we didn’t go up as he would nowhere on earth be moving, but I live in the real world and that real world to me would suggest with this much interest in him then he will unfortunately go. I would not be surprised if he does, gutted but not surprised.

Rather worried if reports of us wanting only £15m are true. He's worth a hell of a lot more than that in this current market and we really need to be pushing top dollar for our sales if this model is going to work. Hopefully the club show they have more resolve and ambition than that if and when they are tested with bids this summer, as our model fails dramatically if we sell cheap.

will be the usual guessing, i wouldn't worry about it. Unless we get a ridiculusoffer he will be staying

Aye.
Leaving one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League to play every week for us, and then sign for arguably the smallest club in The Premier League, and probably get relegated back to the Championship would be a brilliant career move.

If we were talking about one of the top six Premier league I would be concerned.
He is not going to be stupid enough to go to Burnley for a short term cash injection, and end up no further forward man.

He won't go to Burnley.

It's a shop window.

He goes Burnley performs well and a bigger club could then buy him.

He's achieved all he can at championship level. Anyone who thinks a move to Burnley isn't a step up is deluded

He hasn't achieved all he can.
He can win promotion.

And I didn't say it wasn't a step up.

It's just not a big enough step up for a lad of his talent.

We know his girlfriend and her family extremely well. He's happy here
So what would your opinion of Sky reporter Keith Downie saying on his Twitter account yesterday that Clarke wants to play in the Premier League (of course he does but Downie clearly trying to unsettle him unless he’d spoken to Clarke who’d said I want to leave now!)?

Downie is an NUFC sycophant and his attitude/behaviour in relation to Saudi AFC and his disinterest in SAFC was summed up in his tweet in my opinion. He knows exactly what he’s doing.

Go back to Bel Air man.

If he does and performs then he will go for £30m plus. So why the fuck should we subsidise Burnley’s profits.
Achieved all he can. Wtf. He’s achieved 1 good season man. We know he’s a decent player but that’s just rubbish.
