Ben Stokes post ashes series

I can see him retiring from International cricket by the end of next summer, have a year out with surgery and rehab, then being Durham captain for three years and absolutely bossing county cricket and bringing us another Championship and a T20 cup.

I can see that mainly in my dreams like!

i dunno, can see that if he's sick of the limelight or going down the franchise gun for hire route if he wants to stay relevant and highly paid in the world game.

like his entire career, you just can't hope to predict what'll happen next.

he's done durham ccc proud whatever happens

Dont play another test till Feb, plenty of time to go Surgery route on the knee, even if it's just a more routine clean up.

Dont think he plays the world cup.
think he ends up with less wickets than Freddie by the end (226)

im with you there. Not in your dreams like obvs

i think with the Superchargers Announcing Parnell as captain gives us an idea hes nowhere near the hundred this year (despite the ECB clearing the schedule so the central contracted england players could play.

He should be under the knife on that knee as early as next week for me, hopefully rehab it for early next year

Parnell as captain ? He was at best average in this years T20 so I’m surprised he has managed to get a captains contract

He’ll have surgery, never really bowl again, somehow stagger on and lead England to defeat in Aus in 24/25 and retire/T20 for a few years after

Edit, Ashes is 25/26 so he won’t make that

He’ll retire from captain about this time next year then

me too, gun for hire, you'd think if it wasnt stokes youd use a lad from Durham or Yorkshire as a captain

He seems to be enjoying it still (apart from his knee). He'll have surgery asap after the test in hope he's sorted for India. I can see him continuing until next home Ashes series, fitness depending.

This knee thing will rule him out for the Indian series possibly

then after that comes a short tour in the windies iirc then the IPL

the IPL is the one as it injured Archer again and he would have been a big factor in the Ashes . Stokes could have got his knee sorted after the pakistan series and then he too could have been a bowler in this ashes , which could have been a difference if he just didn’t bother with the ipl

will stokes forgo the IPL so he is really ready for next summers test series ?

then he will go into next summer with no red ball cricket for months on end , like they did this ashes and we were like a touring team going 2 down as the Aussies had more red ball play in their legs

of course weve come on strong but it’s too late

as for Stokes playing for Durham again , I just can’t see it happening more than a 1 or 2 game farewell sort of time once he is finished with England
