30 overs is pretty much 2 hours/full session.
Broad has got plenty time leftAnderson I’d think so. Would be very surprised if Broad retired
Not so sure, the Aussies don't have much coming through and Starc/Cummins can't play forever. Warner is retiring and Khawaja is 36.
And people are paying Sky subscription money to watch it, surely they should be bleating about it as it could affect their business! TV money is paying the players! Both sides bowling to few overs, as you say we’re not getting our moneys worth.
I remember when Ambrose and Walsh walked off , then McGrath and warneAnderson I’d think so. Would be very surprised if Broad retired
Not good enough, and if we can see it and come up with ideas to combat it, why can’t the authorities.
Fining the umpires is a great shout (think it was @brandon the other day). Very simple, easy to implement.
It’ll be trickier with run penalties as there are other variables, but fine the umpires as well as the players to start off with and see how that works. If it doesn’t, then find a system for run penalties.
Correct. They’re the best Aussie side to tour here since 2005 imo. They’re world champions. They’ve got an excellent pace attack. In Khawaja, Smith, Labuschagne and Head they’ve got four world class batsman. They’re a very good side and won the first two Tests to make this outcome overwhelmingly likely by playing better cricket than we did. The weather has got them out of jail in this test but we weren’t / aren’t guaranteed to win at the Oval.
They’ve deservedly retained the Ashes based on the balance of play so far and now we have to stop them winning them outright for the first time in over two decades
No autumn tour? After the next test match, the next test match is away to India next January![]()
Aww not India again, sick of those bellsAfter the next test match, the next test match is away to India next January![]()
World Cup is onNo autumn tour?
what the fuck they watering the pitch for?
makes me laugh they are quick to get on the pitch once match is off, yet they sat on their arse for 25 minutes from 11.30am when it had stopped raining today. embarrassing
I think there is always room for improvement which ever method you use, but ultimately we lost those tests (especially the first test) because of drop catches, missed stumpings etc, not because of the approach.Do you think the balance of our approach was right in the first two tests?
I think the main point is we have seemed to have learnt in the last few gamesI think there is always room for improvement which ever method you use, but ultimately we lost those tests (especially the first test) because of drop catches, missed stumpings etc, not because of the approach.
The approach without a shadow of a doubt increases our chances of winning games, granted its high risk strategy that also increases our chances of losing totally get that.
McCullum has always said he would rather risk losing to win, rather than first thought been let’s not lose, it’s a great positive way to think in test cricket and well overdue and exactly what test cricket needs imo.
Tbf to your point with that strategy they will be times and has been times the balance is not always right.
But I will more than take that for a win percentage this team has since he took over.
