4th test Manchester

John Kettley just been on Talksport  ..he says we will get play but the rain will return south this afternoon that is north of Manchester now.

Whatever happens England's fight in this series has been magnificent.
Well, apart from declaring too earl;, not picking a proper wicketkeeper, throwing wickets away, trying to score too quickly, declaring too late, dropping catches, and picking the wrong bowlers.

We should be drawing this series 0-0 by now with the promise of more rain at the Oval. Instead we've had some fantastic entertainment and bail-biting finishes. I won't be watching again unless it stops raining.

2005, what a team that was. Flintoff, Pietersen, Trescothick in his prime, Strauss, Vaughan all in the same team. Only Bell really failed with the bat. Harmison imperious with the new ball. Jones reverse swing baffling the Aussie batsmen.

Collingwood making a vital 17 runs and a very neat 0-17 with the ball in the crucial draw at the Oval.

Durham's Katich did his bit for England with the bat and ball an arl

Seemed like the first time I had known England not to be a poor side and was the culmination of Duncan Fletcher's transformation of the team.

Surely it was the team that we took to Australia in 2010/11 that was the golden generation?

Wallopped them 3-1 and a year or two later gubbed them again.

Don't think that series will get bettered, think about how many new cricket fans it made.. I'd already been watching the game for a decade before that anyway ;)

Due to dew apparently, so one side doesn't have an advantage

Test World Championship started at 10.30am for oversea viewing reasons
The old 60 overs each Gillette Cup final at Lords in September started at 10.30. The match was finished before it started. Whoever won the toss put the other team in to bat.
