4th test Manchester

Still taking the water off, inspect now and it's a no.

If it stays dry we'll start about 2.20.
If their out their the whole time instead of waiting 40 mins.

Will give them a better understanding of what it's like. Than waiting 40 mins and the decide at 2 let's wait another 45 mins like they have done.

If they'd been out before 2 we might have actually got started at 220 like you said.

Gonna be not much drier at 245 than it it as 2.

Looking at the moment like tomorrow afternoon might be alright but it's really just gaps in a massive system so it's very hard to predict. At present looks like it's going to absolutely hoy it down in the morning and early afternoon so with time to clear might get the evening session.

They've not stopped drying the ground since it stopped raining, just takes time.

Thing I don't get though, is that they have a tarp that covers the whole ground for gigs. So why not for the cricket?

This is ridiculous. I’m fuming here. I’d be even more annoyed if I’d paid to be there.
What's the solution though? There's a few tweaks you could make around the older conventions around weather but besides that not sure there's much. Also some of the more stuffy victorian things in place around light and weather etc are offset by the modern concern around injury and liability
