Forthcoming gigs.

Kubix this weekend, then the National in Leeds later in the year, and that's it for me.
Like most people, having to cut back on expenditure, so the days of kendal calling are in the past.

Would anyone be interested in a ticket to this? Only an hour away, absolutely topper line up... personal reasons getting in the way of going, am absolutely gutted and trying to claw back a bit of cash 🥺

Unfortunately can't go, but I would have loved to!
I've had an email this morning to say me tickets have been reallocated to a more expensive price bracket closer to the stage due to production layout changes. 👀
I've got 4 free tickets. They must be absolutely desperate.

Lande Hekt (Muncie Girls) supporting The Beth's toneet at Boiler Shop. Good writer, spoke to her after the set and she'll be at Pop Recs soon (gig got cancelled, but new date TBC)

2 x VIP tickets for the Chilis at Hampden Park this Sunday just listed for resale on Ticketmaster by me tonight if anyone wants them. Can't go now. Listed for £110 each (half price). "Print at home" tickets.

so far this year The Darkness, Chris Difford, Darren Hayes, Kiss and Hollywood Vampires. incoming, Kubix, Dean Freidman, PIL, The Dead South, Dr Feelgood, Slade, Sweet, Hugh Cornwall and Depeche Mode 😎

I’ll give them a listen today. Heard of them but not sure I’ve listened to them
They’re really really good mate, just announced a debut album coming soon too. They’ve been on the scene and unsigned (until last week) for years and they just keep getting bigger. Got tickets to see them in Manchester later in the year too which I can’t wait for. Hope you like them!

The K’s last night in Stockton were absolutely mega
Saw them support Blondie a few weeks ago. Wasn't their crowd but I thought they were good and had a few catchy tunes. I thought it was funny that the lead singer needed to change guitar after every song then realised he had a capo on in a different place each time and basically was playing the same few chords each time. Kept the roadie busy but amusing. The only downside for me was the presence of a mag flag across one of the boxes on the stage (which is odd as they're not from the north east). But a good band I think and probably a decent chance of success.

Driving into Newcastle shortly, but I’ve currently got 6musics 80s rave day on. Not sure I’ll allow myself to turn it off

They’re from Earlestown mate. The lead singer Jamie is a Newcastle fan. His Dad took him when he was younger and he’s been going ever since. It usually doesn’t mix into the gigs apart from when I saw them at NX Newcastle and then it did  I don’t believe football and music should mix but if I was a Sunderland fan playing in Sunderland I reckon I’d give it a bit as well.

Yeah that's totally fair enough, and even a bit of banter about it for a hometown gig is also fine... we'd all do it. It's when it strays into Fender territory that it spoils things.

Aye it wasn’t quite that bad. Very clearly though the Sunderland fans in the crowd at Newcastle stood out like a sore thumb
What I like about them most is they’re clearly just 4 best mates absolutely loving what they do, as we all would. They have a proper laugh doing it and put the same energy into a crowd of 3/400 as they do a couple of thousand or more. I reckon their debut album will do very very well

I've seen him do it in Leeds as well, the spenk
