Boro thread

My take on it, I don't care if we loose all our pre season games, they are there to get fitness levels up and the boss to try things out, get a feel for how the players are doing and fitting together. the only thing that counts is the first proper day. I seem to recall a few seasons ago we won all pre season games and had a pretty poor start to the campaign. pre season games mean now't

On the flip side of that we had many a shite pre season in the prem and it ran on into the season. One season we had a kind start as well, but we were way off. Wins give confidence.

They are NOT in these parts. They are in Yorkshire. They are a different breed to the North East folk. When I worked down there in 70’s and 80’s ( Over the border near the club Bongo) they thought I was Scottish. They regarded us as fanatical and admitted that our support was phenomenal. They didn’t like the fact that a lot of folk in Billingham and Wolverston supported Sunderland.
Yes I worked at a car dealership in the mid seventies in Stockton and they didn’t like us. More so than Newcastle.

There skint as a club but Gibson haulage firm that props them up is raking it in

60m for a football club owner isn't a fortune like in this day and age.

And of course he's limited now to what he can top up Boro. I'd love to see them have a poor season as they were becoming mag like on here in the run in

Yeah fitness is key, but I can't see any football benefits of going all the way to the US apart from the commercial side. You'd get more competitive games in Europe and more opportunities for fans to attend .

Can say I’ve never heard of any of them -mind that’s not to say they arnt good signings and it’s a bad thing -it’s not unlike our model

But we purposely employed people with experience of spotting and developing youth.

Boro seem to have just asked their scouts to do same as us. Can't see their signings being anywhere near as successful as ours have been. It's not just about bringing the player in its developing when you sign them as well

Time I suppose will tell
We were very similar last year
Be interesting to see how we fare this
I have confidence in our young uns to develop further

I think we'll find it tougher this season. I think the starting 11 is weaker than the end just because we've lost Amad.

I don't see the signings weve made filling that massive hole. But window is still open.

Boro on the other hand. Most if their best players have left and there signing kids to replace them.

It’s f***ing radged this place like 😂😂

They’re basically signing a load of younguns which is exactly what’s ere are doing but ours are better because we employed someone who can spot a youth player

it’s just pure delusion on here at times like.

I agree re Amad -however someone else may step in/up?we may also be stronger as a “ team “ for the experience of last year
I agree this year will be tougher but so maybe will our side with another year under many of their belts !
Great though looking forward to games these days

If you think that's all it is you are seriously thick.

We appointed Staff specifically to target and sign young players.

Boro haven't. Theyve just started signing players under there old setup
