Boro thread

Boro are Still the last club around these parts to win a major trophy this century ;)
They are NOT in these parts. They are in Yorkshire. They are a different breed to the North East folk. When I worked down there in 70’s and 80’s ( Over the border near the club Bongo) they thought I was Scottish. They regarded us as fanatical and admitted that our support was phenomenal. They didn’t like the fact that a lot of folk in Billingham and Wolverston supported Sunderland.

Haha of course they're NE man. You do understand the difference between counties and geographical areas?

Billingham is atleast 80 percent boro, it’s like saying Sunderland don’t like the fact we have fans in south Durham

Like the intent but you're wrong IMO. Boro is where NE ends and Yorkshire starts.

Boro is definitely the North East marra.
Same as it is a derby game.
Not THE derby, but still a derby.

I'll never understand why people say Boro isn't in the NE as it’s in Yorkshire. It’s the equivalent of saying Sunderland/Newcastle aren't in the NE as they're in Tyne and Wear.
Do the same people believe Liverpool and Manchester are in the NW? If so how do they explain the 60?-80? or so miles they are further south than Boro?
This “whistling past the graveyard” style self deception surely contributes to safcs embarrassing record against Boro ower the last 50yrs or so in comparison to the same periods true derby games. It’s a derby. Boro are in the NE. The sooner safc fans start manning/womaning up and stop pretending it’s not a derby to minimise the hurt caused by consistently having our arses kicked on the field by them the sooner we can begin to claw our way back to being undisputed top cats in the NE. It’s a fuckin derby ferchrissake, man/woman up everyone and face it.
It’s not THE derby. Of course it’s not. It’ll never obtain that importance. The axis V the allies never obtained THAT importance. Etc.

Where does the NW start and end as a matter of interest?
He had quite the new manager bounce, but it tailed off alarmingly, will be interesting to see how they start
Fingers crossed eh? ;)

Don’t begrudge the NE a major trophy. As a region we have very few between us in living memory, and it’s considered a hot bed of football!

More and more money and success filters down to the south in football, mirroring UK society in general. The NE gets lift behind.

It’s unfortunate that’s it’s gonna take dirty Saudi blood money to change that.

Have got a feeling they’ll be a mid table team, think they had a few loan players they might struggle to replace.
Am sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong😂
