Middlesex and Northants have tied. Middlesex only 6 down when chasing as well.
You play to the end of the scheduled overs. Just read they need 3 off the last ball, Northants had everyone on the boundary and they scrambled two.Why did they stop with the scores level ? Surely another over could have been played. I'd be furious at this like

Another sensational round of games in the CC.
The side batting in the 4th innings ie Middlesex get 3 extra points but nothing extra for Northants. Think this once happened at the Riverside when we played Worcs and they got the extra points.I think both teams get more points than the usual 5 for a draw, but it is still classed as a draw (not an tie) officially.
Nah it's one of the many beauties of first class cricket that things like that are possibleWhy did they stop with the scores level ? Surely another over could have been played. I'd be furious at this like

One thing I noticed on the Div 1 table that I found astonishing - Nine games played and Middlesex have 2 batting points while Northants only have the 1.Cheers for clearing it up.
Interesting to see that of the 9 fixtures in this Championship round, 6 were drawn. Some pretty uncomplimentary things being said about the Kookaburra experiment.
Like early years at Chester-le-street!One thing I noticed on the Div 1 table that I found astonishing - Nine games played and Middlesex have 2 batting points while Northants only have the 1.![]()
But when is this Yorkshire sanction of 48-72 pts going to be applied? The competition for the second promotion spot is looking interesting. Can’t believe Leicester (currently second) will do it after not winning a single game last year! Sussex, Glamorgan and Worcester all close behind but Yorkshire have a game in hand.

Northants 4 Middlesex 6.How many would they have if the rules hadn’t been changed though?
I didn't know about this rule at all. I just assumed that because Middlesex weren't all out with the scores level, that the match was simply drawn with 5 points to both sides, so this was a revelation to meThe side batting in the 4th innings ie Middlesex get 3 extra points but nothing extra for Northants. the kookaburra experiment is quite simply a load of old nonsense.... like everything that Strauss got involved in. What a nugget that man is. I rather liked him as a player, but as an administrator he was.... I was going to say hopeless, but he wasn't hopeless at all.... he was pernicious. The man had an agenda and that agenda had nothing to do with cricket and everything to do with finance. If he hadn't been the beneficiary of a general upwelling of sympathy for the terrible tragedy in his life, he'd have been out of a job years before he could have done any damageCheers for clearing it up.

I mentioned that I thought this had happened to Durham in a home fixture against Worcs and have just checked it out in the Wisden.I didn't know about this rule at all.
