Forthcoming gigs.

Arrived in Scarborough a couple of hours ago, glorious weather thus far. Had a wander down to the beach then back up towards the venue where I listened to them sound checking Something Changed and Weeds. Looking forward to this one.

Just arrived in Scarborough too. Had a wander about and sitting having a drink before getting changed for tonight.
Didn't realise Pulp were still going - shows how out of touch I am these days.
Saw them twice within (about ) a month a good few years ago.
Middlesbrough Town Hall and the Metro Arena.
Nice to see you're posting again - hope you're keeping ok 👍

KISS absolutely fantastic last night in Glasgow - the last show of their UK Tour and the last show ever in the UK as their Farewell Tour winds down to it`s final 5 months before ending at Madison Square Gardens in December. Would love to see the very last show but don`t have a spare few fgrand for a ticket.

Despite the lovely weather during the day in Scarborough the heavens opened about 20 mins before Pulp were due on stage and we got absolutely drenched.
Luckily it stopped not long into the set and they were bloody great.
First time for me at the Scarborough Outdoor Theatre but I liked it and would go again.

First time for me at the open air theatre but would go again to. Enjoyed the stroll through the park to get there. Took ponchos so managed to stay dry!

Wasn't fussed about Oracle Sisters. They reminded me of Trev and Simon when they first came on and I was waiting for them to swing their pants 😂

Absolutely love love loved Pulp though. They've been a favourite band for years and Jarvis is one of a kind. Managed to get front central standing about five people back so we had a cracking view. Sang and danced my heart out and didn't want it to end 😍

You must have been very close to us, that's exactly how I would have described where we were 😄. I quite enjoyed Oracle Sisters, a breath of fresh air and a couple of catchy tunes.

Yes it was a great set. They were a bit late coming on and then had to stop at the curfew so I kind of felt the end was a bit rushed but the energy and joy in the crowd was amazing and we all definitely went home happy (but soaking wet!). Jarvis still has it for sure.

It’s a great venue - it’s even better on a warm, sunny evening, but can never guarantee that on the North Sea coast!!

It is, that was my second time and I'd definitely go back. Parking is dead easy too. It's a bit of a clart on to get back to Sunderland after but at least the overnight closures on the A19 didn't get in the way last night, as they did the last time.

Loved Pulp last night 28 years since I last saw them and reckon I've just about dried out, sounds daft but rain like that sometimes helps the atmosphere.

Did anyone catch a grape?

It was, still buzzing off it.

Made no difference to our enjoyment at all but I thought the support was ropey last night. If it was them again I'd have suggested arriving on time for Blur only. But Weller tonight should be decent so worth getting in for that I would say.

Not sure how well Jockstrap and Sleaford Mods would come across in a stadium, but are you talking about Self Esteem?!?

Different strokes and all that, and I suppose a crowd of pissed-up britpop fans isn't really her type of crowd, but I think she is awesome live. Headlining festivals this summer and wouldn't be surprised if she's headlining Friday at Glasto within 2 or 3 years.
Aye the support was poor IMO, we got into Wembley just after 5 as we were in the club wembley seats. Had bait and a few pints in one of the bars and the music was class, all Britpop era, said to my lass loads of the bands being played would surely have been up for supporting them, Bluetones, Pulp, OCS...1 old school band at least...we just stayed there until Blur 😂

As above.

James last night were absolutely brilliant @Sandboy
Didn’t see all of Tom A Smith as he started earlier than I thought but what I did see was excellent. He is gonna go far. Jamie Webster was good but impending thunderstorms meant he had to cut his set short but Tim bought him on for the first James song which was lovely.

Halfway through James set tho they were forced off because they’re not allowed on stage when there’s a thunderstorm about. We all got drenched then they came back on, ditched the set list and just went for it. Marvellous.

Piece Hall is an amazing venue but stone is not meant for dancing on. My knees are fucked.
Stone is not meant for sitting on either, me and the Mrs both had sore arses all weekend !

I mean I wasn't pissed up (slighty tipsy maybe 😂) and like plenty of genres, had a bit listen to her and wasn't fussed, obviously plenty would have liked her. I just thought at least 1 support act from Blur's 'glory years' would have been canny, brilliant gig from them though and that's all that really matters.

I didn't pay much attention to Jockstrap, was only just getting in. Sleaford Mods I agree, probably not the right venue for them - if they played somewhere more intimate with the right crowd in it would obviously be a very different story.

So mainly my comment was about Self Esteem, yes. I think you are probably right, it's definitely not her crowd. Most of the people around me had never even heard of her. She did nowt for me at all, and I'd like to think I can appreciate different types of music (but perhaps not all, it seems ).

They could have got much better aligned support arranged IMO.

Anyone experience any issues getting under 14's into the standing area of gigs? The Mrs bought tickets for us + the then 12 yr old lad to see the Food Fighters up in Scotland next year.

She originally selected seating to avoid the age limit, however Ticketmaster are washing their hands of it.

Also got tickets for Royal Blood in Boro.
