Ali out, robinson out, johnny without the gloves next test
Dawson/ahmed, Tongue, Foakes,
Thats my pick
However, it'll probably be
ali, Jimmy, Johny WK
Hope it rains for the remaining 13 days to be honest while the North East is bathed in sunshine.

Hard to bring myself to even watch anymore. Just absolutely gutted at how this series has gone.

They've believed their own hype and thought they were changing the very fabric of test match cricket.

We've not done the basics well enough and lost every key moment in the series. Test match cricket wins at the end of the day.
IMO, it has little to do with Bazball, whatever that may be.

This is not a very good Aussie side, even if they are world test champions, they just know how to bowl without over-stepping & hang on to catches.

If any player in a team game can be the cause of a loss, then look no further than England's wicket-keeper. Woeful behind the stumps in games 1 & 3. Produced nothing worth noting with the bat in 5 innings & that doesn't even include his dismissal last time out

That's it, keep playing clips of headingley from 4 years ago (a series we didn't win) to make ourselves feel better. The aussies must be absolutely wetting themselves
British obsession with heroism over accomplishment, in pretty much all of its sports personalities and teams, is so corrosive to future sucsess.

This is a good Aussie side mind, not sure how that can be disputed tbh

Although, ironically, Stokes is playing a defensive innings again.
Aye there's an obvious tension to Bazball in two departments for me.

One, in that the captain isn't playing like everyone else. So clearly it's not just one approach, which means there's debate for what the correct approach is, which means the same consistent approach by the top order is more about individuals than it is the team.

Two, in that the batting half of the team is putting pressure on the Attack half every innings.

The team won't survive that amount of tension for long.

The biggest issue for us isn't Bazball, it's the fact that they're just better than us.

Selection has been poor and we just don't physically upto it.

It’s a bit of both. The notion that our batsmen can go out and blaze a high class attack about the park is just crackers. We’ve also dropped a world class keeper because he doesn’t score at a run a ball.

Preparation hasn’t been good this summer either. Little red ball practice for most in county cricket and then just one test against Ireland with batsman not even getting time at the crease whilst the Aussies were taking on India? Not enough for an Ashes IMO.

It’s just disappointing after a really promising 2022
