3rd test - Headingley

I said first test but they said they were resting him for both. Clearly he's in good shape at this point, whether that's on account of that rest well never know

I seen stokes interview where he said, he was touch and go for the 2nd but they chose to give him the additional time and he would be good for 3 tests in a row.

Hopefully that’s true as he’s got them all over the place.

Can' see any Aussies on comms. Shame.
The brilliant Mark Taylor has already been on.

Old Trafford and the oval traditionally the quickest wickets in the test circuit as well.

A bit more recent...

Dropped! Ben Foakes puts down a sitter

OK, it wasn’t the easiest catch in the world, but at this level that was a gimme. Broad finds the outside edge of Jansen and it moves towards Foakes who has to move to his right. The ball swerved a little and it hit his right thigh. Broad scowls at his ‘keeper. Finally some luck for the Saffas.

England's Stuart Broad reacts after Ben Foakes drops a catch.

Must have been fake news of course, Foakes never drops anything.
The difference is Jonny looks like he's not able to move properly. He's coming back from a horrible leg break.

To expect him to be at the level we needed is ridiculous.

We had an issue in that there wasn't really anyway to play both(unless we got funky with someone else opening) so we gambled on getting the batsman Jonny at the detriment of his keeping.

His keeping has cost us more runs than his batting so it's been an error.

Complete self harm by England persisting with bairstow as wicketkeeper
It was the perfect opportunity given Pope's injury to swap out the wicky and have Johnny just as a bat. Ali's face fits more in the dressing room I suppose because it made more sense to the team to take the gloves off YB. Foakes must be sick as a soggy bag of chips like.

He's alright actually. He shares insight and isn't stuffed up his own arse. Not like most of them.

Nice start.

Long time since I recall seeing us have someone who could chuck it at 95mph. (Long time since I've watched much cricket tbh)

he's clearly not got the mobility or sharpness he needs after the leg break

Bairstow has been incredibly bad. I felt before this series he was a decent international wicketkeeper who was very good at the bread and butter stuff. I was happy for him to be selected but his keeping has cost us big time. There is a danger mind of people thinking Foakes is some sort of machine behind the stumps - he has missed catches and stumpings himself but he is generally excellent.
