Maddison to Spurs

Problem with Spurs is Maddison is a very good signing and a start to making them better

But he'll end up being there biggest signing of the summer and still won't address other weaknesses

You do realise that the transfer window hasn't even officially opened yet, I can assure you that Daniel Levy and Spurs will be very active in this transfer window, Maddison will be Spurs 3rd new incoming player already and Spurs are reportedly in talks with 2 Highly rated center backs from the Bundasliga and there will be more incoming players.

Did you seriously think that Spurs wouldn't be strengthening heavily after last seasons absolute shit show. 😲

You never strengthen well that's why you never win anything.

You'll go and sign kids or some unknown from the French league and finish 6th.

Yet scratch your heads and wonder why. You sign players not good enough for the top 4 year in year out

 utter drivel

I can't argue the fact that Spurs recruitment of players over the last 3 years or so has for the most part been piss poor, but previous to that period it has for the most part been been excellent or are you just being facetious, I guess you missed last seasons top 4 finish and all of the previous ones along with cup finals including a Champions league final, awaiting the "but but but you didn't win anything "

It hasn't been excellent though. It was excellent in enabling you to become a top 4 club but then youve been complacent

You've had the premier league's top scorer in your team for ten years and he's had minimal help. The standard of your midfield and forwards has been shit. Richardson wouldn't get in any other top side apart from spurs

riicharlison doesnt really get in the spurs side TBF...and he would be a squad player for a few of the other top teams as well

That’s a weird comparison imo.
Sorry to say it but Joelinton was class for them last season, kind of daft to pretend he wasn’t
So was Dan Burn but most mags admitted he is a fish out water at fullback
Linton had a great season as did the whole team partly helped by under performing Chelsea Liverpool and Spurs
Unless they make half a dozen. Top draw signings they will struggle to be in the top 6

Would take Madison over any Newcastle midfielder he is proven premiership top midfielder, get you double figures goals and assists

Guimaraes??

What a pile of ill informed drivel, Newcastle United couldn't just have him if they wanted him firstly Maddison didn't want to go to Newcastle and secondly they couldn't afford his wages as Eddie Howe has openly admitted.

Having the richest owners in the world at Newcastle United doesn't mean that they can instantly spend unlimited amounts of money on players transfer fees and wages new financial rules start from this season from both the Premier League and UEFA which are related to a clubs annual revenues and Newcastle are already close to their limits

Newcastle United will be lucky to have generated much over £200m last season where as Spurs will have generated around £550m in annual revenues for last season, as for your Champions League quality rubbish Harry Winks played in a Champions League final not so long ago do you think he is Champions league quality, I would suggest that you check Maddisons stats over recent seasons, the reason his fee was so low was down to circumstances regarding contract length and sell on clause hence Leicester City will get Winks for a lower price.

No doubt it won't take too long for Newcastle United to grow their finances by finding loopholes in FFP rules but until then they have to work to a budget.
Source for Eddie Howe openly admitting NUFC can’t afford his wages?
Guimaraes??
I would have liked Maddison but Guimaraes is a better player. And you can’t compare Maddison (a creator) with Joelinton (an enforcer).

He done well first season in a team that were flying lets see how he gets on next season
Not sure on his goals and assists but they be nowhere near Maddison who was i a relegation battle team
Maddison will score more goals and more assists than Bruno and Linton put together in my opinion

Eddie Howe wasn't directly quoting the Maddison transfer but he was clearly admitting that Newcastle United can't compete at this point in time with the established bigger clubs due to FFP rules and Newcastles low annual revenues etc

40 Million is a good deal compared too Antony Gordon fee of 45 million Gordon couldn’t tie his laces just saying 😂

Good player, but get the impression he doesn’t have the desire to get to the top

Very Spursy signing in that regard
Totally agree. If ever there was a swashbuckling footballer born to play for Tottingham, with a crap haircut, silky skills and superb ego (if that even makes sense), it was James Maddison. He’ll LOVE it there and they’ll probably love him too. For a little while at least.
