The ones grown commercially will be completely different breed/type wont they? Or at least some scientist will have messed around with them so they stay 'fresher' for longer which reduces flavour and changes the fruit. Thing is if you've only ever ate from these types you never know the difference, it'll be the same with all fruit and veg thats commercially grown now sadly. When I see them in shops they always seem freakishly long as well, always makes me wonder what shit they put on them because the ones you see growing wild look completely different.
Did you prune them? People more knowledgeable than me will know for sure but certain soft fruits only fruit on two year old canes, so the old canes need to be pruned back to encourage new ones to come through for fruiting later. Our Blackberry cane in our garden is huge so I'm looking forward to a good crop off that.
The Blackcurrant on the other hand, has done jack all so far this year.

As I said, this isn’t gospel for your particular plants but worth checking with a reliable source.
Frozen corn on the cob tastes nice, once it's cooked of course. As soon as they are picked, the sugar begins to turn into starch, therefore lessening the sweetness. Same with corn on the cob. Fresh stuff in supermarkets is rank cos it's days old, but fresh from the plant it is amazing.
Because most of them are frozen in the field as they are being picked. Much better than supermarket fresh ones mate.Frozen corn on the cob tastes nice, once it's cooked of course.![]()

You used to what?We used to speak them for a couple of hours to plump them up. Supermarkets add water to everything except the empty jars they sell that cost more than ones with product in. So I'm surmising they do that to increase the weight.
