T20 - Lancs v Durham - Match Thread 18.6.23

We wouldn’t. See above (post #98)
Is that without the wicket loss? That isn’t what the commentary team were saying. Either way, he needed to hit the 6 and then maybe a 2 or 4 next ball to win it, and with limited time left he had to go for it one way or another
We where never winning it sadly every over from 10 to 19 they pulled the trigger and went for a big shot down the ground.

Crazy that Carse did not come in at 3 Turner has been a disappointment as well.
We were ahead for 16 of 17 overs in a game that was never going the distance. Think he played it quite well keeping wickets in hand and playing DLS and not the scoreboard

It was 152 had we been 3 down, if the last ball had been a dot rather than a wicket we'd have lost by 2.

Go to 3:23:46 on the stream. It’s the start of the 17th over and Scott Read says that the equation at the end of the over for Durham to be ahead is 157.

On the live stream? That’s exactly what they were saying. Scott Read said we needed 157 at the end of the over we were in before that over started.
I'm pretty sure that was only the total after the wicket fell. But it doesn't really matter and the wider point was that Lees had to go for it one way or another

The Lancs commentators seemed pretty clueless tbh and made up several different figures at various points

we lost by 7 runs on DLS and a wicket usually equates to more than that, I think, so I reckon if we'd been taken off the ball before we'd have probably won. I might be wrong, but I sincerely doubt that the rain started just as Lees was walking off

I smell a stitch up!

but I also agree that we are just crap at T20, have been since it started pretty much, and if we had played the full 20 overs we'd have probably gone down anyway in a clatter of wickets........... as it happens, I'm not much bothered because I've already given this comp up for another year
I was watching it mate, the rain started as Lees was walking off or at least that is exactly what the commentators said

When someone has time please explain to me & anyone else that has no know idea how Duckworth Lewis works! Because today Durham lost by 7 runs but Essex won by 22 runs despite getting 237, which Middlesex would not get anywhere near!
