T20 - Lancs v Durham - Match Thread 18.6.23

So many times I've seen us get to 100-110 for 0-2 after 10 and then absolutely shit the bed in overs 11-16.

Turner gone under the radar I think a bit this season but for an overseas he's been not good enough either.
The other night was a perfect example we were well placed to get 190-200 and fucked it up and ended up with 178 costing us the game

I think Carse should have came in at 3 to smack it around.

Disappointing losing it from putting on an opening stand of 125 but we only have ourselves to blame.
We’ll never be any good at this format. It’s a Durham disease. We’ve had some superstars through the door and always been shite.

Very poor. Last year we were blaming Franklin but I honestly think this is just a Durham curse.

We've improved this year albeit small steps which is what I warned folk on here at the start of the season, don't expect miracles, I had no expectations.

Franklin deserved the criticism last year in the T20, it was an absolute disgrace. Not prepared to mix it up despite defeat after defeat, pulling kids out of NEPL games last minute only to not play them time and time again, no game plan, morale low, dressing room issues... etc etc I've said my piece on it all. He was an absolute disgrace.

I haven't criticised much this year if at all any time but this one will sting a little

Don't agree with the criticism here - we've come a long way from last season and progressed a lot. We weren't going to be performing miracles here, and they haven't lost at home in 3 years. We've done well to come close and would have won with a bit more luck on the timing of the rain. We've progressed a lot and will hopefully progress again next season

To lose it from where they were on DL is terrible.Lees played well but we don't have any consistent 6 hitting players especially in absence of Clark .as was said Carse should have come up the order

Did lees getting out to the last ball have much affect on the Drs?
Agree with all about Carse coming in earlier don't think it made much sense when u looked at the weather

Aye Franklin still had to go. Never faced the public after matches and had an overall shit leadership style

we lost by 7 runs on DLS and a wicket usually equates to more than that, I think, so I reckon if we'd been taken off the ball before we'd have probably won. I might be wrong, but I sincerely doubt that the rain started just as Lees was walking off

I smell a stitch up!

but I also agree that we are just crap at T20, have been since it started pretty much, and if we had played the full 20 overs we'd have probably gone down anyway in a clatter of wickets........... as it happens, I'm not much bothered because I've already given this comp up for another year

If Lees had hit the last one for a six, we'd have won, so assuming he knew the weather was coming he had to go for it really

Did you actually watch it or are you just speculating?

We needed 6 off the last ball to win the game, as we were 5 behind on DLS at the end of the over without the wicket. It was starting to tip it down as their lad ran in to bowl

We needed to be on 157 at the end of the over, even a 6 from Lees from that delivery would’ve had us behind when they went off.

We where never winning it sadly every over from 10 to 19 they pulled the trigger and went for a big shot down the ground.

Crazy that Carse did not come in at 3 Turner has been a disappointment as well.
