Jobe Bellingham - Signed

It’s interesting now he’s been signed for first team, I only say in comparison to Johnson, who captained England under 18 but still couldn’t get a gig in our injury crisis,

Not saying we aren’t doing this, we are, just need to make sure there’s a pathway for our own lads.

They’ve got to earn it and be ready for it too though. There’s no way that Johnson, as excellent a prospect as he is, was ready to have been thrown into the Watford, West Brom, Preston or Luton games.

If he’s not ready, as the club deemed, then playing him could have done his development more harm than good.

I don’t disagree with that yeah, you never know till you play them tho. The fact he’s captain at the same level as JB would suggest he’s as far on though? It’s not a criticsm just sn observation that we have our own lad playing at the same youth level as him.

I have no idea how signing Bellingham would stop us giving Johnson a chance.

There's a pathway for the best.
Doesn't matter where they are from.
If they are "our lads" as you put it, and they are good enough, they will get their chance marra.
