Ben Foakes

If Duckett or Crawley got a first baller, they’d be in one ball later and in a worse position under more pressure. Someone who bats number 3 will/should be more than capable of opening the batting.
Of course they should does one position in a order either up or down it make that much difference?

Personally I don’t think soo

What best for the team as a whole should always trump an individual’s preference for any team in any sport

This is the exact reason why you don’t move players out of position where they’d score runs. It’s the exact point you were trying to make

All this for a bloke averaging 32

We’ve just got better players, it’s really not that complicated

No you said that Ben stokes is being told to pick Crawley because his dad knows Rob key. It’s not about disagreeing, thats one of the maddest things I’ve heard. You can’t really think that surely?
I don't think Crawley is a Test cricketer. Makes the same mistakes over and over again. Yes he gets the odd decent score now and again, who doesn't. The fact he's mates with Key cannot be a coincidence on my mind. Anyone else, like Lees, would have been hooked months ago

Please put me on ignore. Can't be doing with your ridiculously OTT reactions if you happen to disagree with me

What’s that got to do with who his dad is?

You can’t seriously think Ben stokes picks players based on who their dad is? That’s the point people are laughing at.

What's best for the team is root scoring runs which he's better at at 4
Been through a thousand times, but Root scores runs because he is class batsman.

When they look back at Roots career they will say he scored runs because of his class.

They wouldn’t say Joe Root was a class batsman because he batted 4

If a team needs any player to move to suit the team they should and a class player should be more than capable of moving just one place.

His last series at 3 he scored a boat load, and under the current regime would score a boat load where ever he bats.

The fact his average overall going back 10 years or so in one position is higher over another does not persuade me in the slightest
