T20 :: Durham v Northamptonshire

which one is that? the blue seats? didnt think last year was as bad as the one before, thought they'd given them all that stand and their own bar, is that not the case this time
Last year was better as not many turned up but they still caused a lot of headaches for the stewards. Should have been knocked on the head after 2021. I do hope they behave as they caused a lot of hassle for the stewards which is uncalled for.
Beefy loves his money
That's all it's about. He won't be bothered some members aren't bothering tomorrow night, the club priority tomorrow will be selling £6 pints

Wasn't as bad last year, but completely agree with everything GordonMuchallNo1Fan said about 2021.

Think everyone was severely pissed off, not entirely sure what lessons the club learned from it given the restrictions had eased last year so they were somewhat off the hook.

Judging by the Invades website, doesn't look like it's close to selling out, whereas last year it had.

Will be in the pavilion myself.

This is one of the problems with being given 4 home games in 8 days. It’s an absolute nightmare for the club from a marketing perspective and yet another example of the wankers within FTECB who are responsible for this being completely unfit for office.
It was fine last year, it’s good income and a good crowd, more people in the better man

This is where I’m at with it. As alluded to above, it’s simply a case of needs must.

Aye its T20 like, I am not sure what people expect ,I accept that Covid situation sounds poor but long time ago that now

should be trying to get students in more for me like.

Totally get that but the club have only announced it's student night with 24 hours to go which is a bit poor given they are fully aware this annoys a lot of the general public/members. They should be upfront so people can plan ahead. I know some people who have bought tickets for tomorrow unaware of the event who said they wouldn't have bothered otherwise and picked another game.

I'm giving it a miss tomorrow, mixture of can't be arsed with the event and not finishing until 5pm, and with 4 games in 8 days it's a lot, so I'll save myself for the proper stuff on Sunday. I just hope they behave and show some respect to the ground, staff and public and get whacked by a few 6s

Roll on the proper stuff on Sunday

There seemed to be plenty of them last year and they seemed to drink an awful lot, but I don't recall any trouble with them. Is the Uni one of our sponsors? They have signs all over the ground, so I imagine they must be. Maybe student night is part of the deal. If the Uni are giving us money and the students are spending lots of money at the bar, then as long as they are reasonably well behaved, it seems like a good deal for the club.

That lies the problem. I just hope it all goes off well tomorrow night for the sake of the Durham stewards and Durham staff

far too many, far too close together. Stupid really... this is supposed to be the big earner for the counties and the ECB have stuffed it up for them once again. They should be encouraging casual watchers to go to every game to spend their money, not effectively ask them to choose one or two to go to. They really don't have a clue

Yeah even though Durham do a good 7 for £70 offer, 4 games in 8 days is pushing it.

I was watching Hampshire vs Sussex on Saturday night and one of the Sussex players was sitting out this game as he said they have 6 games in 8 days, won't be home till late (game finished about 9.45pm) and they had a game the day after on Sunday at 2.30pm.

yeah defs, last 2 years have been a shambles like, just no thought, the ECB dont care if it goes well or not

Yorkshire givn 2 11:30am starts in a week.

I am a huge lifelong Durham fan, back in the area for a month, but even I am unlikely to go to 4 games in a week like

its just too much expense for that format for me

they should be huge events, the friday night ones feel like events, the one on Sunday didnt to me

The scheduling is just daft, but we have to remember The Ashes is also pushed aside earlier for the 16.4. No test cricket in August this year I think?

Just looking at out fixtures coming up, we are at Nottingham on Thurs, then Leicester on Friday which for the lads will be a 2am arrival back into Durham on Saturday morning, with a 4 day game 30 hours or so later at home.

I’ve known about it for a fair bit longer mind

Genuinely can’t tell you how or where I heard it, but I have known about it for a few weeks (if not months).

I understand it upsets the members, in an ideal world it wouldn’t be happening but we all know how difficult county finances are at the minute and so I really don’t mind the club looking for ways to try and cash in. Same with the outground fixtures, if it’ll turn a profit I’ve got no real issue with it.

Lot of drunk young people will always a bit of a nuisance, but is it that much different to the rowdiness of the crowd for a Test or ODI??

I just hope it's worthwhile for the club as getting that trapdoor stand ready for this event hasn't come cheap.
